I'm trying to take a link out of my new Nixon watch band to make it fit better, but I can't seem to figure out how to get a link out. Any ideas?
I tried the hammer plyer thing way back but took a bunch of time and stress, then I took it into a skate shop where they sold nixon watches and they had an actual tool supplied by nixon and all the **** needed to do the job.
Perheps this will help though it's not the same company http://www.allamericanwatches.com/site/626101/page/182605 Or get in touch with your local dealr you have a 2 year warraty on that watch http://www.nixonnow.com/za/NNS?PAGE=FAQ&MENU_ID=14
Pulling the pin out with pliers is good just make sure the metal small metal sleeve that keeps the pin tight inside the link isn't lost.
You need this metal sleeve to keep the pin secure when re-installing the pin back into the link hole.
The sleeve goes first inside the bigger opening and then the pin in the direction of the arrow.
You guys above probably figured this out already.
Thanks for the info!
I had the same problem with a Nixon. you need to hammer out one of the appropriate steel pins (only the pins with arrows printed on the link come out - hammer them in the direction of the arrow). mini screwdrivers and a hammer do the job - they're in pretty tight so you have to give them a good whack.once there's a bit of the pin sticking out you can pull the rest of the way with pliers.

How do you resize a Nixon time teller band when it is stretchy and does NOT have pins?
