You should be able to change your graphic
( maybe just not showing )
but first I would check my device manager and see if your
expansion pack shows in there if so update driver
and when you installed the graphic did you do it using control panel add new hardware

Can I put a video card in a Toshiba Satellite M35X?

According to the Toshiba Site, the video card is part of the motherboard and there are no expansion options except for RAM internally.

Hi I need a Radeon 8500 graphic card for my gateway laptop to run flight simulator X. Where should I get it.

Usually, video cards for laptops are built in to your motherboard. So it means to say that when you want to upgrade your laptop's video card you need to replace your laptop's motherboard as a whole. This process is expensive I should say.

Hi I want to know if I can chage the graphics card on my toshiba satellite L305-S5919 LAPTOP NOTEBOOK

You have an integrated graphics adapter, so the short answer is no. Your system has a Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M (see product specs here, including expansion slots)
Here's the lowdown on your graphics capacities., and here's some info on the Express cards, just in case you're thinking you can go that direction.
Are you thinking of gaming? You can put 4gb ram in that thing, if you haven't already, and that may help you to process faster...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

External monitor connection problem

The problem is with the laptop. The femal VGA port is slodered to the motherboard. Once the laptop's MB has been removed you'll most likely find the solder holding the VGA in place is most likely cracked/loose. The fix would be to remove the old solider & apply new.
I can't guide you through disemble, its complex. I can include a site to help you with this.

If you find this all a little too involved it might be worth taking it to a pro.
At this link you can order A105 parts if needed.

Direct X compatibility issue with new graphics card

Hi tom2badcat, the SIMS game is very picky when it comes to graphics cards. If you look on the SIMS box you'll find their recomended graphics card list. The video card you bought is a low end 8x AGP card. You can try downloading & installing directx 9.0c from microsoft. Click on this link;
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9226a611-62fe-4f61-aba1-914185249413&displaylang=en
If directx 9.0c still fails to install the graphics card is at fault & you should return it. Listed below is a link. The link provides a couple 8x AGP graphics cards that will run both directx 9.0c & the SIMS expansion pack 2. (The graphic cards shown all use faster memory).
XFX cards carry a lifetime warranty. (No# Choice)

Below is a whole list of 8x AGP cards.

Brief Description:
November 2008
The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime provides updates to 9.0c and previous versions of DirectX — the core Windows® technology that drives high-speed multimedia and games on the PC.

Greetings,
Usually that happen once the resolution of your monitor cannot meet the desire need, it depends the kind of monitor that you have even if you change different kind of video card, its still happend.
Try to change the resolution to lower one.
Here's the step
1. right click on the desktop ( a place where there is not icon on your screen)
2. choose properties
3. then settings
4. adjust the screen resolution to lower settings some on the color setting
5. then ok.
Thanks.

Upgrading of Graphics Card

Sorry but cant see the picture u have posted as its so small.

Whatever the spec is there shouldnt be a problem upgrading to a 8500 or even higher card.
There are cards higher up in the range that are now relatively cheap and will far exceed the perfromance of the 8500 agp card.

A good and cheap upgrade would be something like a 9800xt

here are a couple of sites showing performance of cards

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=238&card2=36

http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=740&model2=741&chart=318

The main problem with a higher spec card will be wether your psu is capable of powering it. If you open the pc case up the psu should have details on the side of it. Please list what they are along with the make.
