I would suspect you have to many programs running. First, download two freeware programs,1. CCLEANER at http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This will clean the junk from your machine. In TOOLS section, STARTUP, disable ALL unnessary startup programs. In the UNINSTALL section, remove ALL unnessary programs and Toolbars, they are killers on broswer speed. 2. Download MALWAREBYTES freeware at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/. In the install, UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL SCAN, DELETE ALL RESULTS, Reboot. For Win 7 Tips for speed look at this: http://www.computingunleashed.com/speed-up-windows-7-ultimate-guide-to.html

My toshiba satelllite l455d-s5976 ive done everything and it still runs extra slow

A common problem for slow computers is conflicting anti virus software. Do you have more than one installed on your computer? like say Avast and Microsoft security essentials etc.? If so try disabling or uninstalling them. You can also use a program called CCleaner available for free from download.com (<--click this link) and use it to clear out junk files and more importantly fix your registry. A lot of registry errors can really slow down a computer. Hope this helps!

How do I change my web browser and find a faster one?

Answering this question is kind of tricky. Browser speed can be impacted by many different things. I have a laptop that uses Windows 7 with IE 9 and it browses extremely fast - but you have to consider all of the external factors that can impact browsing speed.

Here are a few things to examine and maybe your browser speed will increase:

- Have you run all of the available updates for the computer software?

- Have you run a full virus/malware scan to ensure your computer is not infected with some sort of a virus or malware that may be slowing down your browser?

- Have you deleted the temp files and reset the browser defaults. (In IE you can do this under the Tools>Internet Options area and clicking on the Delete button. Then go to the Advanced Tab and choose Reset)

- Have you run a disk defragment or disk cleanup? These programs, built into Windows XP, are under Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools.

- Have you tried a different computer on the same network you are using and compared speeds? If a "known good" computer is performing similarly on your network or your home internet connection, then it may not be the computer or the browser that is slow - but it may be the internet connection itself. Sometimes you can improve this by unplugging the power from your Internet Modem or Router for a minute or two and then plugging the power back in, and then rebooting the computer.

- Have you uninstalled extra toolbars or browser add-ins that may be clogging up the browser? You can usually remove these extra programs in the Add/Remove Programs section of Control Panel.

If you try these things and the browser speed does not increase, it may be necessary to format and re-install the operating system on your computer. It is possible for registry or file damage to have occurred that may prevent a possible fix. If this is the case - it is a long process, but a fresh start will always make things seem to perform better.

My pc running very slow, when i start window 7 it will take 20-30 for start. what i do for better performance. i have many time formatting my system . but problem is still fix.

    1)Clean the Temp folder - C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp
    2)Delete unused user profiles
3)Uninstall unused programsfrom Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features
4)Run CCleaner - http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/(This should clean up some of those extra caches, temporary files, log files, and other things strewn about your system)
    5)Run Anti-Virus Scan
6)You might also want to take a look at your start-up items in msconfigand uncheck options you don't need. This'll decrease your computer's boot time significantly, not to mention free up a few resources
7)Remove programs in Start-up Folder (Start, All Programs, Startup)

My computer too slow always get the not responding reply.

Eliminate Viruses and Spyware
Step 1

Run your antivirus program. There may be something slowing your computer that you can remove. It is a good idea to run your antivirus program every week.
Step 2

Remove spyware. Run a good spyware tool at least twice a month.
Step 3

Use a pop-up blocker, if you have one. Check your antivirus program.

Dispose of the Extras

Step 1

Delete your document files for anything you no longer need. Saved pictures, audio and video files in particular can slow your computer.

Step 2

Remove unwanted programs from the Control Panel area. Old toolbars or games the kids downloaded off the Internet are a good place to start. Look for software you no longer use, such as the old printer you threw out last year.

Step 3

Clean out your email. Old messages are a constant drain on your computer's resources. Go through every folder, deleting everything you do not need. Leave no mail! Finish by emptying the Deleted Items folder.

Step 4

Turn off unnecessary programs. Check your taskbar for icons that show running programs. Disable anything you are not currently using.

Run Maintenance

Step 1

Run the Disk Cleanup tool located in your Control Panel. (Windows only. For other operating systems, please check the Resources section below.) This will remove temporary files, cookies and unnecessary components to speed up your computer.

Step 2

Defragment your computer. Defragging takes some time, but will speed your computer significantly. You can find the tool in your Control Panel. Run it monthly.

Step 3

Check for disk errors. Sometimes corrupted files slow down your computer. To find and fix these files, Go to My Computer and right-click on C drive. Choose Properties, then Tools.
