How can i locate am oil leak around the base of our Briggs&Stratton Snowblower engine?

The only way is to clean the engine really well. Grab a can of beer and let it run. Watching the entire time for where it originates and then taking it apart. I am pretty sure this is going to be a seal.

Oil for a snapper snowblower 16223

I found the manual for you snowblower, and it's a two stage snowblower, so I am assuming you need two stage oil. Ultimately you need to get that information from the engine manual, and you haven't provided the engine information in you posting. This is the link for the blower manual:

New pp208e24 poulon pro snowblower... keeps leaking oil , there was pool of oil on the bottom of carton when opened. added more oil but oil leaks continues.

Hi yoshtak, I wouldn't try fixing it. Might void warranty, take it back. If they don't make it right we'll go from there.

Oil leak and stall

I have not solved the problem yet, however, at this point I am thinking it may just be a crankcase vent problem. Builds to much pressure and stalls and that is also the cause of the leak??? I used the blower again today and when I took out the dip stick there seemed to be a pressure.

I had listed my problem as a lawn mower cause the snowblower wasn't in your list of options to pick from??
