FO 2850 - Power Outage Aftermath

After a power outage from a storm, my Sharp FO-2850 fax (in standalone mode) seem to be in stuck a cycle of some sort. ie. periods of all lights flashing as the same time, rotating displays on LED, each with brief pausing. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Or is it lose cause? Thanks JD in Dallas, TX

Unplug the machine for 4 hours & then plug back in. If you get the same symptoms, it will be cheaper to replace with a new one. Power supply is probably blown.

Cannot receive faxes

The storm has likely damaged the phone line, or the ADSL microfilter (if you have one). Which is why it thinks a phone on the fax line is off the hook. Check your line for breaks and your ADSL filters for a blown filter.

Not enough information.
Is the unit receiving power and do you have a power LED ?
Is your power connection to a surge protector or power cube.?

How old is the unit ? Has it been dropped or in a electrical storm or outage ?

You may have had a power surge which has damaged the printing component. A Technician will need to look at it. However insurance should cover you for a new printer
