Question about Brother GX-6750 Typewriter
The printwheel is in incorrectly. the vertical lines are the hammer hitting between the petals of the printwheel. Remove the printwheel and resnap it in. If in correctly it should spin.

Check the print wheel to see if any spokes are bent or missing, be sure that you have the proper correction tape (tack free) and that you are not in proportional space or have an international print wheel.

First press the Code key and Q simultaneously. That will reset the wheel position. If it clicks or otherwise fails to type properly, pull out the wheel and inspect it. One or more of the types may be bent. In that case, the wheel needs to be replaced. Good luck finding the part.

You are right. It seems that your daisywheel needs resetting. To reset it hold down the "CODE" key, while holding press the Reset key "Q" and then release.
If the wrong characters continue printing, change to a new daisywheel.
