Front Display Panel Not Responding

The "Operational" panel does not seem to want to work. The unit works fine with the remote, and also displays correctly on the main display side of the front panel, but the buttons refuse to work. I have reset the unit as per the user manual, but no luck. It's as if the operational panel buttons are frozen. There is aslo no display appearing on the operational panel. Any ideas/solutions?

LCD panel on a Bose stereo in a 2002 Mazda Miata LS doesn't work!

i have the same problem... and it hasn't anything to do with the orange backligh.. it's the lcd segments themselves that have slowly started disappearing.... pressing hard on the middle of the top edge or the top left corner usually brings the numbers back for a while...

i think this is a loose connection / contact corrosion issue that seems to be common to 2002 miatas (i've seen at least 3 that have the same issue with nearly the same milage ~20k-40k)

Try resetting it. Remove front panel, on main unit is an indent that says reset, insert ballpoint to reset and replace front panel. Everything should now work although you will need to reset stations and clock.
