22' snapper walk behind mowewont start .cleaned spark plug and still wont start .swapped spark plugs from another mower that does work and the other mower starts with the snapper mower's spark plug .

You need several things for a running internal combustion engine:
  • Air
  • Spark (to start)
  • Fuel
  • Compression
  • Lubrication
  • Exhaust.
You've shown that you have a workable spark plug so far. Going from the above, consider as well
  • Fuel. Bad / old / contaminated fuel. Clogged fuel filter. If it's a motor that needs gas/oil mix, does your gas have the right oil mix?
  • Air: Dirty, clogged air filter or air inlet.
  • Spark. Is any electricity making it to that proven-workable spark plug?
  • Compression. For this one, the most likely problem (other than a toss-the-engine thing like a broken piston) would be if the spark plug is not tightened into the mount hole, allowing the air to leak out rather than compress.
  • Exhaust. Most lawn mowers will have a spark arrestor on the exhaust to make sure you don't set a dry yard on fire with your exhaust. It's often overlooked in diagnosing two-stroke engines. Make sure it's not clogged or blocked.
  • Lubrication. Is there oil of the right type, and up to a proper level on the dipstick. No oil equals way too much friction in the engine.
Good Luck!

Rear engine snapper flipped over on me and automatically turned off. Now it won't re start. Why?

Does the engine turn over ? did the battery fall out and jerk on the cables?

No spark to plug motor truns over but no start

if the motor turns over but there is no spark, i would put a new spark plug in first if that doesn't solve the problem, it will be related to the coil. check the coil wire to be sure it is not cracked and damaged. there are many you tube videos that show how to check and replace a coil. relatively easy job. good luck

My snapper yard cruiser Lou runs drives turns left right but when I pull the PTO switch the blades will not engage it's a snapper z yard cruiser with kohler engine

There are limit and safety switches in the wiring circuit. When it registers a back-up it disables the blades or turns the engine off. Find the backing switch and try to temporary bypass it

Snapper Lawn tractor will not start

Check your valve adjustment. Valves can be safely set at .004 for both intake and exhaust. Give this a try and see what happens. I would be interested in how you make out. GOOD LUCK FREIND.

I have a snapper 28 hi vac riding mower that won't

first try and start it with carb cleaner or starting fluid with the air filter out if it fires then its a carb/fuel problem if not it could be a spark problem remove the plug connect hte wire back up and crank the engine over while looking for spark if no spark disconnect the kill switch wires from the side of the engine should be a single wire near the throttle cable if spark with that off the problem is in the wiring or safety switch if still no spark its the coil

My snapper hi-vac niwer us hard to start. I can't pull hard enough to get it to start. It uses straight gas, not mixed with oil.

If you are having problems starting your mower you shouldcheck 3 things, air, fuel and spark.

Fuel: check to make sure you are full of good quality fuel, try to start theengine several times then take out the spark plug and it should look wet. If its not wet then you aren't getting fuel into the engine.

Air: remove and clean the air filter with clean gasoline if its made offoam. If its made of paper then you should buy a new one from a localauto parts or hardware store.

Spark: disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and hold thewire close to the engine block. Try to start the engine and watch for aspark to jump between the end of the wire and the engine block. If itdoesn't then either the wire is bad or the ignition coil is bad.

Need linkage diagram for 6HP briggs carb from snapper comet mower

Try looking up your product here: http://www.snapper.com/manuals/

If you can't find what you need there, please try to contact Snapper at: http://www.snapper.com/contact/

If it's the linkage on the engine itself, try Briggs & Stratton's website here: http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/

Hope that helps!

Snapper mower electric start problem

On most mowers, that red wire will connect to the battery. that could be your problem.
you didn't say if it is a rider or not, or how old it is.
Touch the wire to positive post on the battery, with the key off, remove quickly if it sparks.
if no spark, hold it to the battery while turning the key.
if the engine tries to start, connect it permanently.
