Remove ALL ethernet cables, Uuplug Wireless/Router, if applicable. Unplug AT&T modem, remove battery, if applicable, wait 30 seconds or so, replace battery, plug in , wait for selftest, plug in Wireless device, wait for selftest. Reboot computer.

Testimonial: "It answered my question but did not solve my problem. The original problem is that we changed from Suddenlink wireless to ATT Uverse in a real estate office. I have one agent whose laptop shows it is connected to an unidentified network. She cannot access internet, so can't print email, etc. She seemed to have a problem with an "expired lease"? I have done the ipconfig release and renew thing, but it gave a 24 hour window before it expires again. Seems that is not the problem either. I know just enough to be dangerous....thank you anyway for your reply. I may have to break down and call someone. "

    Why is the agent connecting to a unidentified network? Why not connect to your network? I'm a bit confused? Expired lease? Is she leasing the Laptop?

    Let me get this stright. The problem is with the Agent's Laptop, not the wireless? If you supply the Laptop's OS perhaps I can help. A general procedure would be Open the Network and Sharing Center, click on Connect or Disconnect, Select YOUR wireless, click on connect, enter your Security Key (password). Am I missing something?

    Yes, it is with one agent's laptop. 9 others connect with no problem. Her laptop evidently sees the ATT wireless connection, because it says connected, and that the signal strength is excellent. It goes through the process of identifying but eventually says unidentified, Yes I have done all of what should be normal process, but it just doesn't solve any problems

    On the Agent's Laptop Open Control Panel, Internet Options, click on Connections tab, Lan settings, select Automatically Detect settings.

    sorry for the delays..I work on her laptop for a while and then go back to other work.. She has a Toshiba with Windows Vista. I am off work now until Monday when I will look at it again, I will decide Monday if I just need to call someone in, Thank you so much for your efforts. I believe all updates were current. I will double check that on Monday.

What is the green cable called from the Arris NVG510 kit?


It would be classed as a cat5e cable with RJ11 connectors.

Might be something like this.
Amazon com Belkin High Speed Internet Modem Cable RJ11M 15ft Computers...
You will have to use the phone line filter to hook the cable to the phone socket.

Motorola reset instructions


If you have an NVG510

  1. Open a Web browser and enter http://192.168.1.254 into the address bar.
  2. Choose the Home Network tab at the top
  3. Choose the Wireless sub-tab underneath
  4. It may ask for a Device Access Code. By default, it is located on a sticker on the modem.
  5. On the Security Drop down, change it to WPA-PSK or WEP-Manual
  6. In the field marked Key, type in the password you wish to use

Ngv510 red light blinking


hello i was wondering if anybody can help me out here,recently my att unverse dsl nvg510 modem redlight (wifi setup ) is flashing red and sometimes flashing green. my internet is running good, all the device that connects to wifi is good also. and also i unplug the power for few minutes and plug it back in and still that redlight keeps on flashing. nobody can answer my question. thank you
