You can not achieve this with the Ti-nspire cx. Only the CAS version will give the square root form. On the CAS there is an option in the settings called "EXACT" under calculation mode. The cx does not have this mode.

SOURCE: ti-89 titanium SIN!!!!!

The answer that you have received in actuality is correct. However, it is in exact form when the answer that you were looking for was an approximation (decimal form) answer. To achieve this all you have to do is hit the alpha button (the yellow button with a diamond in the center) and then enter which will give you your desired answer :-)

To transfer the operating system to the handheld, connect your handheld and computer with a USB Connection Cable and use TI-Nspire™ Teacher Software with TI-SmartView™ or TI?Nspire CX Student Software (Windows® / Mac®).
This is the link that will download the OS (it's free) to your computer:

My TI NSPIRE CX CAS is stuck at the loading screen - it keeps loading and then going back and repeating (only when plugged in). I have tried resetting it whilst holding down EE, doc and enter. When I do...

For the TI-Nspire and TI-Nspire CAS handheld units with TouchPad and
the TI-Nspire CX and TI-Nspire CX CAS:

• Hold down [doc] [enter] [EE].
• While holding these keys press [on].

Please Note: For TI-Nspire Family handheld units that
contain rechargeable batteries you can alternatively hold the above
keys while pressing the [reset] button on the back of the handheld rather than
removing the battery for 2-5 seconds.

• The device will boot up as in the previous reset, but will display a menu
with the following options. Please try options 2, 3, and 4 in that order.
• 1: Cancel - The most non-intrusive reset option; no changes are made, the unit
restarts.
• 2: Delete Operating System - The operating system will be deleted
without deleting any documents on the system.
• 3: Delete Document Folder
Contents - This will delete the user's documents, but will not delete the OS.
Selecting this option is the same as using the RESET hole on the back of the
unit.
• 4: Complete Format - This will delete the OS and all documents for a
total wipe of the handheld.

Please note that the second and fourth option will require that the OS will need to be reinstalled.

Hi, when I'm solving a trignometry exercise, using both degree and radian my Ti Nspire CX (not CAS) will only provide something like a aproximated number instead of giving me the answer in square roots or...

I am afraid you cannot do that. The CX has only two calculation modes AUTO and Approximate, while the CX CAS has these modes and a third one EXACT. That is the one that allows display of result with square roots and the symbol of Pi. Your best choice with the CX is to set the calculation mode to AUTO.

Hi, I have a problem with ti-nspire cx cas.

The Ti Nspire CX CAS has a built in battery. It must be recharged. If you plug it in a wall socket or in a USB charger you should be able to use while it is being recharged.

Why does the TI-nspire not give complete graphs of cube root and other franctional power functions?

I do not see why it would do that. Maybe you restricted the domain to positive values of the independent variable.
Anyway, my CX CAS has the latest OS version and it draws cube root for positive and negative values of x.
By the way the cube root is made up of one branch only, not 2 like the square root.
Here is a screen capture.

I am using Window XP. How to download software that includes a driver to my computer to use my TI-nspire CX ?

In the clamshell or the box the calculator came in, there is a CD. Use it to install the drivers and the TI Nspire Computer Link software. If it came with the TINspire CX student software you can install that too.

After that you can hook the calculator to the computer and run the TI Nspire Computer Link software or the Student/Teacher Software and it it will probe the USB port and find your calculator.
