Sunbeam bake house compact, baking component broken, can this be repaired

The mixing and kneading process works fine, but the machine stops when it gets to the baking part of the process, with only a flashing light on the menu option indicator light. Is this repairable, or throw away? Thanks Steve

Which program are you choosing? Basic, whole wheat, french, dough etc. Knowing that may help me answer your question.

SOURCE: How do I keep the kneading blade from staying in

You could try to take out the dough after the breadmaker is finished kneading the dough into a bowl. Then rub some butter or margarine on the paddle and inside the paddle. Return the dough back into the pan to continue the rise and bake cycle. This should keep the paddle from ripping a big chunk of your bread when you remove it.

SOURCE: My sunbeam breadmaker will not

If you are feeling handy unplug your machine, turn it on one side and remove the bottom panel with a phillips head screwdriver. You may find your drive belt has come off or broken. If that is the problem you may be able to find a replacement for it from Sunbeam, or I may have one that will fit it.

SOURCE: Kneading blade comes off during breadmaking process

Yes, if the blade come off then your bread is not going to mix and knead properly. The blades on all makers are designed to slip on and off though so you can remove them for cleaning etc. Be sure you are pushing the paddle all the way on. If it still comes off when mixing that would be very odd as the weight of the dough ball itself helps keep paddles on. I have owned dozens of machines by different manufacturers and never had a paddle come off in process.

Do i remove the mixing paddle before baking

Hello, Linda -

I hope I am correct in thinking you are asking about the mixing paddle for a bread making machine and you do not have the instruction manual for it.

From:

(Quote)
When the dough bakes, it bakes around the kneading blade. You must remove the blade from the bottom of the loaf after the bread is baked.

Best wishes.

How can I get the machine to start the bread making process from the beginning. It is currently stuck on knead.

Do you have your owners manual and have you baked bread in your machine before? Just want to be sure that you know the stages that the machine goes through. The first mixing and kneading stage in a tr444 will take up to 15 minutes before it stops on its own. It will then let the dough rest for about 1/2 hour before the 2nd knead begins. It takes almost 4 hours for your machine to go through all the stages before your baked bread is finished.

How do you keep the kneading blade from being baked into the bread?

Hi, You can take the kneading blade out of the machine after the last kneading cycle and before the final rise. Take the pan out of the machine to do this just to be on the safe side, Hank

Kneading paddle is baked into bottom of bread loaf. Is this normal?

Yes, this is a common occurrence.
Nothing to worry about unless you chow down and forget to remove the paddle(s). :)

Since the paddle(s) stays in the pan after the kneading and through the baking process. The bread can trap the paddle(s) as the batter cooks.

We have gone through 3 different bread machines and over time all eventually did this. A little wear on the spindle will loosen the paddle(s).
Hope this helps!

Banana bread recipe for sunbeam 5895

I have made the following recipe in my West Bend machine with great results. I just got a Sunbeam 5895 at a garage sale - it works great - just wanted a different "shape" loaf! I'm going to use this recipe in my Sunbeam - don't see why it won't work!

Here's the recipe!
1/2 cup softened butter, cut into small pieces for good blending
1 cup mashed ripe banana (personal note: if my ripe bananas don't measure up to 1 cup, I add enough milk to make it 1 cup. Seems to be okay)
2 eggs, large, slightly beaten
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Grease inside of pan and knead bar generously with vegetable shortening (I just spray with Pan Spray). All all ingredients in order listed above to pan. Lock pan into bread machine. Program for quick bread. After a few minutes of mixing, I usually take a rubber spatula and scrape down the sides and stir in any flour that has not been completely mixed. I didn't do this once and ended up with a loaf that had flour coated corners!

Good Luck! Enjoy!

Bread is overly dry and coarse textured

You're doing everything great with your ingredients. Listen to your machine or watch it. Stop it before the bread is in the rise cycle and restart it after the kneading cycle.Try running the knead cycle two times, then the rest of the baking cycle. If the bread is still too hard try using the kneading cycle three times. This process is trial and error, but I firmly believe this will solve your problem as it did mine.
