I have a Carrier Air HVAC unit, It is not heating the house. THe fan works, the AC works, but when I turn the thermostat to heat it will not come on. I am thinking maybe a thermocoupler. The model number is 585HJ036060. Where can I find a service manual for this unit?

Do you know if the heat side of the T/stat is actually calling for heat? Depending on the wiring of your stat, normally the Red wire is the power supply (usually 24V) and the White is the heat. Have you tried setting the stat to max temp and jumper the red to the white to make sure the stat is actually calling for heat?

It could be a limit switch tripped, May require manual reset, it will be near the burners or on the heat exchanger.

SOURCE: rheem heat pump. blower will not turn off

The fans are set to delay for 60-90 seconds to remove all heat from the heat exchanger/heater elements.

If the fan runs any longer than 3-4 minutes after the Emergency Heat shuts off, you may have a bad sequencing relay in the air handler.

SOURCE: Heat pump cycling on and off.

It sounds as if you you have a low charge of refrigerant, r22. When the unit comes on outside, the outdoor coils become the lowside, there is a low pressure switch that is tripping out contactor protecting the compressor.

SOURCE: My Carrier AC fan will not turn, only blows out warm air.

Breaker has popped either at breaker box or at the safety shut off switch. Fuses are blown or the sending unit has popped.

My AC Carrier unit is blowing 110 at vent set to cool 68 degrees ambien temp 88 degrees.

Low refrigerant levels (most common cause.)

it sounds like your outdoor unit is running, but the AC is blowing out hot air, start with cleaning the condenser coils. Spray the coils with a water hose, clearing away the loose dirt and foliage. If the AC continues to blow warm air, call an HVAC expert for help with refrigerant levels.

Need a quick fix for a Carrier that won't heat. Ac works, fan works, auto for heat doesn't.

Could be the capacitor or the heating element (or igniter if it's a gas unit). Unless you're a qualified HVAC repairman, call your local HVAC company to come take a look at it.

Carrier 38CKC042300. oUTSIDE UNIT FAN WAS TURNING REAL SLOW. ac UNIT IS OFF BUT FAN TO OUTSIDE UNIT IS STILL TURNING. sHOULD NOT BE TURNING AT ALL WITH AC UNIT OFF

The outside fan may run if the unit is in defrost mode this is normal for most heat pumps it is there way of trying to keep the outside unit from staying iced over so the next time the unit runs it will have air flow through the coil and the ice will not be there to prevent air flow.

No heat

Your compressor sounds like isn't working? And the problem is if we are lucky you just lost the capacitor. turn off the breaker to the ac/heat pump unit. Open the electrical panel on condenser locate the capacitor if it is swelled up like puffed up can then for sure it is bad. It has two sides to the capacitor one for the fan and one for the compressor. If you have a meter check it in ohms. If you don't have a meter take the capacitor to a heating and air conditioning parts house and get a new one just like the one you have very important to get right size. let me know how it turns out. ken

Blower Turns off if ac unit comes on. No air coming through vents

This only could 1--2 things, a bad circuit board fan relay or bad thermostat. To check for bad thermostat, take off the front cover to reveal the 4-wire terminial and jump the red-wire (power)-cool,(yellow -y or blue)--- green--fan white-(heat)..........red to yellow-or y=cool. Thank-you-very-much!
