SOURCE: Maytag Electric Dryer - replace belt

The belt needs to be above the metal. Otherwise the repair looks good. Easy fix. Thanks for the pic.

SOURCE: replacing maytag dryer belt

looking at the back of the motor where the belt pulley is you would grasp belt coming down from the left side of drum then come across the top of belt pulley that is on motor shaft going clockwise around that pulley then continue back to your left and over the top of belt tension pulley going counterclockwise around that pulley this is when you will have to raise pulley against spring pressure to get belt on then release belt tension pulley make sure that belt is still in belt groove on the drum hope this helps ed

SOURCE: I'm having a problem re-fitting the drive belt to

After some mild swearing, I made sure that I had the belt around the drum aligned (in the same plane) as closely as I could with the drive pulley and tensioning wheel. I think this was partially achieved by placing the belt as close to that position as possible before lining up the front end of the drum with the cabinet opening, and then turning the drum from the front (through the open door) very slowly clockwise (the direction of its normal rotation) to give the belt "time" to align itself fully with the smaller pulleys. A short prayer and a few minutes later, the machine was humming away with all parts playing their "part" in beautiful harmony - without the dreaded sound of a thin black drive belt cluncking to the floor of the metal cabinet.
Cheers,
Andy B.

SOURCE: The belt has come off the dryer drum. I dont know

stick the belt pulley in the holes closest to the motor. if you have a belt pulley like this. get the belt and hold it together so you have a loop at the end and run under the pulley so the pulley lifts up and put the belt on the motor shaft. the belt always goes under the pulley so you are lifting upwards

John Deere A120 tension spring for PTO broke off and flew across yard I have the new spring can't fig out where it goes HELP>>>>

find the pulley that is loose and rotate it until the belt is tight either way, then add 2 inches on to the spring length and you should find your hole. remove belt from largest pulley that is clear and insert spring through hole and attach other end using a no 3 screw driver using slot to guide spring end into hole.

There are four pulleys on the deck. Two for the blades, one idler, and one tensioning. The two smaller ones are the idler and tensioning. The tensioning is the one on the right. The post coming out the top of the pulley is where the spring goes, it slides over the top and a clip goes throught the hole at the top of it to retain the spring.

I hope this helps.

Dont know how belt goes

if you are going to replace your belt and you get it at Autozone, the belt routing will be on the package, but you need to check the automatic belt tensioner to see if it is still spring loaded,it bust not be since your belt came off,

Need a btlt route so i can put the new drum back in my ge profile

route the belt around the drum, pull the spring loaded idler pulley to the postion that requires you to hold it there..
put the belt : 1 through the motor pulley and around the idler pulley, or 2. around the idler pulley which ever works to keep the tensioner tight. (Idler pulley, tensioner same thing its the pulley not on the motor.
Once you put the belt on the durm, pull the idler pull so there is tension on it it should be clear how it goes.

it goes on the shaft of the electric motor the belt goes around the drum should be a set screw on pulley reattach to shaft tighten then looosen bracket on motor apply tension and tighten you may have to go to the hardware st ore and get another screw if yours is lost as a tip apply red loctite to the threads to prevent it from vibrating loose they have that at the hardware store or auto store

loop the belt around the drum.
slide the belt down the drum directly over the motor pulley
loop the belt around the motor pulley
pull the tensioner pulley hard to the end of its travel against its spring
wrap the belt around the tensioner pulley
release the tensioner so the spring pulls it against the belt
rotate the drum by hand to ensure the belt is aligned and does not pull offf the pulleys
reassemble case
dry clothes
its easier than it looks seeing a broken belt in the bottom of the case.
