Have you cleaned the sensor strips with windex? They may have a coating of wax on them from dryer sheets and such. If no moisture is detected the brains of the thing shut it down.

Check to see if your thermistor is bad by measure the resistance. It should be 10K Ohms at room temperature.
If it's bad, replace it BUT you have to CLEAR to error code.
1. Enter to Service Mode by press CHIME and TEMPERATURE keys for 3 seconds or until 3 beeps are heard.
2. Access Diagnostic Codes by pressing WRINKLE PREVENT. A d will be displayed. Rotate the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB in either direction to read it.
3. Press SENSOR DRY and TIME keys for 3 seconds to clear it.
4. Power OFF to exit Service Mode
5. Power ON
Hope this helps

My MDE9700AYW will not heat or tumble? All lights and everything else works fine i just hear a click when i try to turn on dryer?

You probably have a bad high limit by the blower wheel in the front. I recommend a professional repair for this problem. Before hand, check your exhaust and make sure it's all clear. You have to tear the entire dryer apart for this job. If you do take it apart, it looks like this on the blower wheel housing. 50% sure its this.

No heat. I have checked the resistance on all three thermostats and got a reading of .1 on all of them. Any ideas on what to do next?

The OHMS reading confirms that all the coils/elements are in good condition and the fault is relative to a loss of voltage to the element. So when the dryer works there is no feed voltage to the element to heat and so this must be traced from the controller unit. It can be a fault in switching check for failure of relay or line break in wiring to the element.
Please take care when working with live power circuits and attempt ONLY if you can trace the supply voltage feed from the mains supply to the controller and to the element.

I have a Maytag Neptune Dryer that won't heat. we replaced the thermistor and the control board. What else could it be?

First unplug dryer and test your heating element for continuity with a multimeter if it has more than about 30ohms it is bad.Next check for 220v-240v at the heating element with the dryer running (This is not a test for an amateur. If you are not familiar with electricity I would recommend calling a service tech. If you have 220v-240v there and no heat the heating element is most likely bad. If not then trace the wires back to find the open circuit could be a thermostat or the thermal fuse or just a loose wire/bad connection.

Maytag dryer mde9700ayw

I have the same problem--it is the heating element. Bad news is they don't make the part anymore. The solution from is to buy a new one and they will reimburse you 15%...not a very good solution considering how much this one cost and the amount of years it has been used.
If you find a place that sells the heating element please post!

Neptune Dryer

My maytag neptune dryer quit heating, after my wife changed the temp setting on the console from regular, to extra low drying temperature. The heating element reads 10.5 ohms. The thermal cutoff reads 0.02 ohms. The hi-limit thermo reads 0.02 ohms. The power coming into the dryer is 240 volts. What can I check or need to replace.
