Shutdown the computer. There should be a small hole (tiny pinhole) on the front panel of the DVD player. Unravel a paper clip and insert it into the hole. Keep pressing and it will manually eject the DVD player tray. Hopefully you'll be able to get access to the DVD and remove it.

You have damaged the CD loader tray, best thing to do is just replace it, they are not repaired.

My CD tray will not after removing a fragmented disc that got stuck

It sounds as if there is either still some obstruction within the CD tray mechanism or path, or else the CD drive itself has failed and should be replaced.

I would recommend replacing the CD drive, especially if it has already caused one CD to break into fragments.

Replacing a CD drive should be reasonably easy if you have a tower computer and are happy to open the case.

Depending on the design, there are normally only 2 screws on each side of an optical drive and 2 cables on the rear to disconnect (3 cables if you have a direct sound connection from the drive to the motherboard).

Some case may have a quick release method for removing the optical drive. You should consider replacing the CD drive with a combination CD R/W DVD drive unless you already have a second DVD drive installed.

I need to get a dvd out of the tray

Don't! first of all make sure that the dvd didn't tear into pieces, if teared then nothing to do, buy a new DVD Drive, if not you would notice a little hole in the front of it, try with a pin into that hole and push it, the tray have to come out, then everything will have to work as normal.

My DVD tray on my Yamaha DV C6480 (it holds 5 DVDs) got stuck in the half open half closed position. It may have come off the track. I opened the case and reinstalled the DVD Tray. Now the tray...

This happens to us all the time. Here is the note I keep on how to fix it quickly:
When tray gets messed up, the drive wheel (with pegs that interlock with pegs on the tray) needs to be such that the tray slides in and out freely. Push tray all the way in. Turn on.

Hope that gives a hint.

DVD tray stuck in the closed position

Is it jammed?
Still has a CD/DVD still in it?
Is so try cycling the power to see if it will kick it out.

Otherwise it's most likely a hardware problem like a bad tray motor, broken gear, or perhaps a bad/stuck switch on the tray assembly.

If it's still under warranty, call the manufacture technical or customer support for a possible replacement.

My ACER tower DVD disk tray is stuck.

Considering the low price of a DVD drive, I would just replace it. It sounds like the tray has been bashed, maybe by a leg or object dropped on it?
The emergency hole is likely on the side of the drive inside the case. If you have no experience changing a DVD drive, ask a friend for help. DVD drive installation is covered on the web. It is pretty easy. Just unplug the power first!

The Dvd's door keeps opening and closing

Did you drop the dvd player or bump it at all? if not there is a small object stuck in the tray housing(more than likely) also see if the tray is off kilter especially if it's closing then opening. It's really hard to tell w/out seeing it but that's probably what's wrong.
