Where is the bulb located on Russell Hobbs rhm2018

I have just done this myself on the same microwave - I know this was posted a year ago but maybe you still have it. Unplug the microwave. Remove the cover by unscrewing the screws on the rear and side. As you're facing the microwave, to the front right hand side on the top there's a black oval-ish shaped thing held in place by two metal clips (pictured). This is the light bulb. The clips easily lift up by hand, then you can gently lift out the bulb. With mine it turned out that the bulb wasn't broken it just hadn't been screwed in properly!8ada370f-1c5e-4600-8102-2c5c0b93f61c.jpg

I have a Ge jvm1790sk and while the microwave is running there is no internal light how do I replace it?

Unplug unit before entering.

The light bulb is behind the air vent at the center top of the microwave. Remove two screws at the very top front of the microwave and pull the vent cover forward at the top. Sliding left is sometimes necessary to release the bottom tabs of the vent cover. The light fixture will be behind this cover.

Good Luck. Reverse the above process to reassemble.

Replace sping in door model r 1611

The spring is probably OK, but tab it mounts on may have broken. To remove the door, pry out the little cover (~1.5 in by 1 in) on the inside of the door by the upper hinge. Then you can lift the entire door off the hinges (with the door open). Then you have to pry the inner plastic fascia (faces the cooking cavity) that surrounds the glass. Once that is off, you can see where the spring is, or was. My tab had broken, but I was able to mount a small bolt thru the endplate of the door (so it doesn't show when the door is closed) which I could mount the spring on it. There isn't a lot of clearance on the outside, so a low profile head on the bolt is better; otherwise, the head will catch on the edge of the control panel as you try to close it. I put 2 nuts on the inside, with locktight, and put the "hook" of the spring around the bolt in between them. I will admit, I had to drill 3 holes before I got an acceptable amount of tension on the spring (I kept having too MUCH tension). For some reason, putting the bolt approx where I thought the tab had been resulted in too much tension. I suppose I could have stretched the spring some instead of relocating the hole and bolt. Push the fascia back into place, remount the door on the hinge, and replace the little cover. Hopefully the door will line up OK, the latch will catch and release as it should, and the interlock will be released as it should be when the door is securely closed (and interior light goes out). One other caveat, I am not a professional, and the door does need to "seal" or I guess all those evil little microwaves can escape and emulsify your brain, or whatever would happen. I will not be held liable if there is leakage.

Fan just circulates air instead of exhausting the air outside

The exhaust motor was not installed properly - it has to be turned 90 degrees so that the blower openings face up instead of the front. Whoever installed it didn't read the directions:)
Unfortunately, the unit will have to be taken down from the wall to correct the motor.

Removing Old Built-In Microwave

You did not note your Make and Model. As there are many different types, all I can give you are basic directions.
First make sure the Power Cord is UN-PLUGGED from the wall.

1. Remove the Top Vent Grille Cover. There are screws holding this on, either Three you can see (one on each side and one in the center), or Open the Door and look for screws at the top of the Frame that go Up Into the grille.
2. Look in cabinet above unit for screws that hold unit up. Usually two (one on each side, front), can be more. Remove.
3. Look where Top Vent Grille Cover was removed. There should be a Long Screw or Screw-Type Lock at each( top) corner. These hold the unit tight on the Wall-Mount Plate. Remove. You should have HELP at this point as you will slide the unit forward until it comes clear of the Support Arms.

Microwave installation

I'm a kitchen remodeler, and I've seen this problem with Kenmores (so it probably exists with some other brands too. The ones I have seen have the typical bolts through the top, but there's more. The flat mounting plate on the wall has an protruding piece that fits well into the body of the microwave when the unit is slid into place. It has a threaded hole in the end of the extension, and the sheet metal screw or bolt that goes into this is causing your anguish. To access this, you must remove the top front louvers (maybe some other trim plates as well). You'll eventually find the bolt that unscrews with a horizontal screwdriver. Bulb replacement

NO,If you can get to the three phillips screws directly over the vent door then you do not have to take the unit down. Unplug the unit. Remove the top three screws over the center of the louvre and then carefully lower the vent louvre. (Lowering helps me get a better grip on the louvre assembly. Then you will slide the vent louvre assembly about 1/8" to the left and then it will pull straight back and out. In the center is an aluminum cover which has a phillips screw facing you. Remove this screw and the cover plate. The light bulb is directly to the left of the inside of the cover plate. You will see the metal tabs which hold it in place. Pull the bulb housing assembly straight out (to your right) as you face the microwave. Then you will locate your halogen 120V 20W bulb. I just received this from a fellow guest on fix it and I was able to fix my unit 10 mintes ago. Also another tip was to take the inside glass out when reinserting the bulb unit back in because it does get in the way. Good Luck
