I'm trying to get my Grandmother's Bernina Favorit 740 running again. I cannot get the zigzag lever to pull down so buttonholes can be made. Any suggestions?

The lever could be rusted in place; ie. the parts that move across/over each other when the lever tries to move down, don't.

Here is a list of Internet searches for Diagrams; not all of these will be for your exact machine but all are similar. Cast about and you can see how your lever is supposed to work.

How do I adjust the hook needle timing on my bernina 950?

I have a Bernina 950 sewing machine and I had a thread jam, and to remove the jam the hook came apart. Does it mean every time I have a thread jam I have to pay someone to fix the hook?
Why can I do this my self if someone will share pictures or knowledge?

Hi, hope some one can help! I have a benina 740 industrie that needs both upper gears. will the bernina 740 parts fit my machine? Thanks!

The gear set is the same in both 740 machines providing that the 740 that you want to take gears from is not an older set with (straight miter tooth) bevel gear set. Later model 740 will all be helical. The 740-11 or 740 Industrie (same machine) will have helical teeth and will swap. Hope this helps? SewTechnical Home

Wantanew hook device for model807

Im about %99 sure you will only be able to get this part from a bernina dealer or someone who is friends with a bernina dealer.
I also think that that hook is the same hook that is still being used is all bernina 5.5 mill machines today so it should be eazy to get.
We sell the part for about $110.
Why do you think you need a new hook? I think I have seen about 3 of them hooks go bad in my life (so not many).
Hope this helps

Brother Embroidery machine thread keeps breaking

It doesn't matter so much the thickness of the stabilizer but more a matter of it being taut like a drum and the proper stabilizer for the fabric you're using. Couple of reasons the thread breaks...the thread gets caught on the edge of the spool in the crack where the thread originally starts, you're not using the right size spool cap or the upper thread is wrapping around the spool pin. When I use my 170 for embroidering I always use the vertical spool pin to eliminate this problem. Try it and let me know how you make out.
