Question about DISH Network ViP622 DVR DTV Receiver / 180-Hours Video Recorder

People are blue on my dish network

My satellite got unplugged.  When I tried to plug everything back in the people on the screen are blue.  The other colors seem fine and the second television's screen is fine (it is hooked to the same receiver).   I don't think that I altered the colors on the television.  Did I plug a cord in wrong?

Most likely you are connected to your TV via component video (green, blue, and red). The first thing I would check is the red cable making sure it is plugged in all the way to both the TV as well as the sat rcvr.

I have Dish 322 receiver. Everything was fine; a week or so ago satellite 119 reception was spotty, now we can't get 119 at all. We get 110 but only about 34%. Sometimes the receiver will power itself off...

It looks like you have lost the signal for the 119 satellite from your dish. Are you getting an error message, either 002 or 015, saying the satellite signal has been lost or acquiring satellite signal? First, check the cables on the back of the receiver to make sure they are secure. You can also run a check switch test to see if there is a problem between your dish and receiver.

Press the Menu button on your remote. This will bring up the Main Menu on your TV screen. Input the numbers: 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1 (Point Dish). On the right side of the Point Dish screen are 3 buttons. Select the Check Switch button. Within the 2 large boxes are satellite numbers and green or red boxes. Make a note of the satellite numbers (should be 119, 110), the trans, the device, and switch. Super dish and alternate should not be checked. Select the Test button on the bottom of the screen. If a box pops up with a warning about TV 2, select Yes. It will now run the check switch test. Let it complete the test. After completion, the screen will automatically go back to the Installation Summary screen. You may get a message stating that the Check Switch test has found fewer satellites than previously detected. If you get this message cancel out of each screen (do not save the results) till you are back to the TV screen and it is acquiring Satellite signal.

If you don't get that error message, see if the information on the Installation Summary has changed. Then select Done on the next 2 screens and cancel out of the others till you get the message, Acquiring Satellite Signal. After it finishes acquiring satellite signal and downloads the program guide, see if you are getting a picture - try different channels. Can't get EPG to display after set up

You haven't specified which type equipment you are experiencing the problem. With our DISH Network receivers, if the EPG does not display you can do 1 of 2 things. First, unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds and plug back in. This causes the receiver to reboot and re-acquire satellite signal. Then it will download the EPG.

If you still don't have the EPG, you can then run a check switch test. Press the Menu button on the remote. Main Menu will display on the TV screen. Press 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1 (Point Dish) on the number pad. Highlight the Check Switch button on the right of the screen and press select. On the Installation Summary screen, highlight the Test button on the bottom left. Press select. The receiver will perform a switch installation check. After the test is completed, exit out of all screens till you are back to the TV screen. The receiver will acquire satellite signal and download the EPG. I hope this helps.

Hello! This is what we call a black screen with banner. If you unplug the receiver for ten seconds this will reset the receiver and should correct this.

Are you still having problems recording live TV shows? You can try unplugging the receiver from the power outlet for 10 seconds and plug back in. This will make the receiver reboot and then acquire satellite signal. Once the acquisition is complete, a program guide download will take place. Allow the download and see if the receiver will allow you to record.

If it doesn't, then run a check switch test. Press your menu button to bring up the main menu. Press 6, 1, and 1 on the remote which will take you to the Point Dish screen. Upper right hand corner of TV screen is a button, "Check Switch". Maneuver to that button and select. You will now be at the "Installation Summary" screen. At the bottom of screen, select "Test" button. Allow the test to run. After completing, it will automatically take you back to installation summary screen. Check for any errors windows. Exit completely out of all menus till you are back to "Acquiring Satellite Signal". Allow program guide download after acquisition, then check if you can record.

Won't rewind or record. Has been "updating" the menu more than usual.

When you try to use the DVR features, do you get an error message (024 or 311)? Have you unplugged your 625 receiver yet? If not, unplugged the receiver for about 10 seconds and plug back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and acquire satellite signal. When the picture comes back on, try to pause. If it still doesn't work, we may need to replace the 625 receiver. If the lights will not turn on, try unplugging the receiver from the electrical outlet for about 10 seconds. Plug the receiver back in, which will make the receiver reboot and re-acquire satellite signal. If the receiver does not turn back on, at least the green and amber lights on, we may need to replace the receiver.

We have a black screen with no audio. We are able to pull up the guide, but we can't watch tv or anything recorded on the DVR. How do we fix it?


No fatal error, try this. If you would, please unplug the receiver from the power outlet for about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, plug it back in and let me know when it comes on (it will do this by itself). Once it does, it should be showing Message 015, “Acquiring Satellite Signal”.

Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized


chances are that you have only lined up the dish to pick up one satellite. there are several satellites up there for dish and its easy to miss the ones that you need. try to line up the dish keeping this in mind. if that doesn't work, write back.
