Question about Franklin FWC100 Wine Cooler

Open Question

Franklin Chef model FWC100 is pooling water at the bottom of the wine cooling space. What could cause that?

Had the unit about 10 years, always worked fine, but lately has been accumulating water. Is there a filter to be cleaned? Could a condenser be frozen? Thanks

Would suggest you try a distributor for this cabinet as sometimes they have more leeway with the supplier. Looking through sites would suggest someone like BeverageFactoy.com may have a route to the spares youre after. Hope this helps.

If the damage is limited you can repair it by patching with a Epoxy such as you will find at the above URL.

SOURCE: The alarm in our Franklin Chef model FWC100 wine

Love this machine. Works great. Have had it for 6 years. Now it has a problem. The lights and fan work, and the temperature settings work. It behaves like either the freon is low (I don't hear the compressor starting), or whatever causes the compressor to start is crippled... Fuse looks good, nothing visibly burned on the motherboard, haven't opened the bottom.

You have troubleshot this thing well. You may have a capacitor problem or starter problem. It will not be design let the unit come on. This is all to protect the expensive compressor.

The alarm in our Franklin Chef model FWC100 wine cooler keeps going off even though everything stays cool so we want to know how to turn off the alarm or cut the wire to the alarm. Thanks.

Power Consumption - Magic Chef Wine Cooler

The unit will draw between 6 and 12 amps on start up and running it should use less than 1.6 amps. The start up amps will increase with age. Funny how that works the same for people as it does for machines. I hope this will FixYa. Please dont forget to rate. Mike
