Question about Hotpoint 1578h5 C00209186 Creda Crusader Tumble Dryer Belt

1 Answer

Our Creda Crusader tumble dryer is dead. Changed the fuse but still dead.

Having worked perfectly for about 10 years, our tumble dryer is stone dead. Any ideas if this is terminal or if it can be fixed please.

When we moved it yesterday it suddenly burst into life and then died again, so we are thinking that there is a loose connection inside. Any ideas where that might be? Thanks for reading this xx

SOURCE: the tumble dryer trips out

It sound as though it is overheating.

This may be caused by a reduction of air flowing through the machine.

Check all the filters and the out pipe for blockages that would restrict the air flow.

How to fit belt on Creda Reversair 37643 Tumble dryer

New belt is very tight, so you have to use more strength. Put it on motor and all other on "drum". Spin it easily and slowly but with strength until its done.

Be carefully, use gloves.

Creda compact 3 37301 tumble dryer pull down door. Not heating only rarely, have changed the element. It heated a little while but starts blowing cold air. Drum is working and fax at back

I would suspect thermal fuse, easiest way to test is to tape wires together and start dryer. Safety note if left like this it will start a fire. It is located on the back of the dryer and has two wires connected to it. Here is a website that will help:

http://www.partselect.com/dryer+dryer-wont-heat+repair.htm

Usually, failure of a thermal switch is caused by extreme heat: meaning that the dryer is not venting properly, clean dryer of lint inside and outside as well as the vent tube. Good Luck Tim

Hi

If you can hear the motor running and have also checked the belt tension and they are O.K., then the only thing I can think of is the Motor pulley, where the belt sits on.

Check that out and make sure it is not loose on the motor shaft, so that the motor turns but the pulley slips.

Ash

No heat to tumble dryer

Check the thermal disc with an OHM meter. One will be next to the heat element (high limit) and another on the air exhaust area which is the low limit.

Is this a gas dryer, if so check the thermal fuse, should be white plastic with 2 wire ports. These tend to bad first. Thanks Dave www.washermd.com
