SOURCE: solution

You have a bad vertical output IC or a bad capacitor(s) in the vertical driver or output circuits. Not a job for the user to do unless you have the proper tools as well as a service manual. Good Luck

SOURCE: regulator ic of sony tv kv-g21c1

I am not familiar with the particular model of Sony TV that you have. I can answer genericaly:

There are a number of voltage regulators typicaly used on TV sets. These are usualy IC devices, or a complete descrete circuit. The purpose of these are to regulate voltages that are used to operate various circuits. Most sets can typicaly have anywhere from about five to maybe even a dozen or more throughout the set, depending on the sophistication of the model.

The regulators, like any part in the set can fail with age and use. Sometimes they are damaged from other components failing, or when a regulator fails, it can damage the circuit areas that it is suppying. When the set is being service, the tech must check for other failed parts.

I have a Konka CTV K2166CZ. It's powering ON but no picture, no OSD only equally spaced retrace lines. 180volts vcc to blue, red & green transistors collector drops to 28volts.

Check the base voltages of the video output transistors. If it is found high [ more than 3V or so]; the main system control chroma jungle IC is faulty. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

KonKa flat screen: during viewing the screen goes blank but the audio remains on.

You may have a bad ground on the horizontal transformer. This is a common occurence on any brand. Somewhere there is an open solder ground and they may be almost anywhere. Look at the soldering under the flybackout, the soldering on the vertical IC and the soldering on the horizontal output transistor. Pay attention to any and all ICs soldered to a heat sink or cooling fins. These are high heat areas and must be inspected very closely! And check out those high power resistor grounds. I think just a good soldering will restore your TV. Thanks for asking!

Good day.

Try to check for the Regulator IC and the components attached on it. There might be some busted parts on it.
