there is a strap inside just below the battery compartment and you need to strap the opposite two that are strapped now. this will allow the bolt to operate correctly.

This sounds like an unusual problem, but your lock may be covered under warranty. Warranty covers mechanical and finish defects, but not the internal electronics. I recommend calling them--
call 1-800-327-LOCK (5625) in the U.S. and Canada.

Your lock is under one year warranty, with a lifetime warranty if the problem is mechanical or the finish.
