Interesting. It may be that software is using more memory; when your computer runs out of memory, it starts using your hard drive for temporary (memory) use, which is painfully slow. You haven't said anything about your computer. (e.g., is this XP with 512mb or less? Vista with 1gb or less?)

A suggestion, if I may: Before worrying about your hardware, just make sure your software is up to date. This support note here tells you how to make sure you've got the latest patches to that software. It's on a different topic, but the advice is right.

Connection to update server failed, error code 12152 for Bookkeeper updates

A lot of people seem to have had major problems trying to upgrade for this software. Some have spent many hours waiting on the phone, and decided to move to different software.
"Dog Lover" offers this guidance:
If you are updating your software follow carefully (1) first back up your database and email to yourself (2) wipe bookkeeper completely off your computer (3) download the newer software and install the tax tables (4) finish updating (because it downloads to a newer software version within 2011) the program. When everything is updated, (5) save your database to your desktop (6) open bookkeeper and restore your database. Then make another update with the upgraded database.
Lets hope it is still true for 2013/14

Critical error! Windows can't find hard disk space. Hard drive error -- Damaged hard drive clusters detected. Pruvate data at risk!....What should I do ?

Try deleting all files within the following locations: (In Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) click "Tools" and select "Folder Options" then choose "Show hidden files" and take the tick out of "Hide protected system files")

%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temp

This is the action of some form of malware, masquerading as Windows Security Center. It roots itself in the current user's temporary data folders and as far as I know, doesn't affect all users.
It is also a hidden process but as far as I know, doesn't execute any particularly malicious code, just a really annoying notification (which you'll notice changes).

Unable to install card studio 2009 has dvd-rom instead of cd-rom

Hello,

Well, you have a couple of choices:

1) You can have a DVD installed in your computer. Usually around $50.
2) You can purchase a flash drive (thumb drive) of at least 4GB. Depending on the size of the files, you may need an 8GB. You can have a friend copy the entire DVD onto the flash drive. Then you can take the flash drive and copy the entire DVD from the flash drive to your computer and install the program or install directly from the flash drive. (It may auto start when you insert it into a USB port.)

If you install it from the flash drive you will probably have to insert it every time you run the program. If you copy the DVD to your hard drive you will not have to and it will run faster.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Cannot install from DVD disk. My "User Account Control" says, "Unidentified program wants access to your computer." Gives me the options of "Cancel" or "Allow". I click on "Allow" and nothing happens.

Start Vista's "Program Compatibility Wizard".
Tell it that you want to install a program that runs under Windows XP.
Point the wizard to the drive-letter of the DVD-drive.
It will install and run the software, "emulating" the Windows XP environment.

Quicken 2009 won't load any more. using windows vista.

Ok, this basically means the ini file is corrupted normally. What you'll have to do is either reinstall quicken 2009 or try a repair on it. You can also manually go to c:\Program Files\Quicken\qw.exe and see if the shortcut is bad that you have been using. If you don't have the disk, go to start, settings control panel, add remove programs or programs and features. Locate the program. Right click on it, click change. Then check the feature that gives you the option to repair the software. BACKUP quicken files if they aren't on a disk.

"D:\ is not accessible"

Well this is kinda of a funky setup you got going with 3 drives, why dont you make a partition on the c drive to handle vista and make another partition on C: to handle xp? Run a multiboot and there you go. See vista is going to take over that secound drive no matter what, also you got to realize that its hard stating a multiboot from two diffrent drives, use your other 2 drives to store your programs and your set.
