Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

1 Answer

Changed the batteries......now can't get it to work.

I have a Sears Craftsman Garage door opener from 1997 model # 41A4315-7D. The batteries went dead in the remote, so I changed the batteries. The remote calls for 2 batteries DL2016. They are supposed to be installed on top of each other. I have tried putting them in the remote in all the combinations possible; positive to positive, negative to negative, posivite to negative, etc. After installing the batteries in each combination, I tried resetting the codes and can not get any to take. HELP! There is a gree code search button on the back of the opener that I am pressing along with the remote button. The remote has the opener button and 2 smaller buttons (no idea what they do). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

How do I check a wireless garage door keypad, to see if it is transmitting?

These remotes don't loose the programming code when a battery goes dead, most likely the remote or the board on the opener went bad, do any other remotes work? You can take the remote to an auto parts store and test it there. (They have a tester for key fobs)

Garage door send receive signal

Caution: do not use LED bulbs with garage door openers. They are a possible source of signal interference between the transmitter and receiver on the opener.

Some reason keyless entry won't open my garage door. I have directions to change the code but, there is nothing in the manual if your code no longer works. I have changed the battery, pulled the plug on...

If that keypad quit after working since 1997 and a new battery didn't get it going it has just gone bad. The model number listed for your opener is now 53876.
