Question about Reddy Heater-170,000 BTU Kerosene Deluxe

Reddy heater will not ignite

Light will not come on and it will not ignite. It is full of kerosene.

    No, it will not do anything. Is there a fuse to the ignitor, if so where is it?

    is it blowing fuel? sounds like a bad ignitor, does it have spark?

There is a fuse, take the panel off where the on off switch is and it will be right there, one fuse runs the entire unit.

When filled with kerosene then plugged in, the heater will kick on for about 3 seconds and the fan will run but it will not ignite, then it shuts off. reddy heater 55, 55000btu. runs on K1 or fuel oil.

Starts then shuts off


if it starts and shuts off the flame sensor is dirty. Take cover off and clean flame sensor with scotch brite. If it dosen't light at all you have an igniton problem
