My Canon sd 1000 won't power on. Battery is OK.

My Canon sd 1000 won't power on. I've checked the battery contacts and insured the battery is OK. It works well in another Canon SD camera. The camera had been working flawlessly.

Check to make sure the batteries you are using have enough strength and volt power, if not it wont work. If they are really cheap, and last only a weak in the remote, they wont power up a camera.

Check the HDMI, mini-USB, and SD card connectors for damage. The DC/DC board is part of the front board and it comes with the battery compartment. Check front and back of board for liquid damage and impact. Check SD card slot for damage to the contacts.

Canon t3i will not turn on without sd card?

This a situation the manual not even mentions. The red light on the bottom right of the camera is the memory access indicator. It should light green as I remember ok. And blink when it is writing to or reading from the memory. If it is red, it means : this is not ok.
This light is not a gadget. It should be taken serious. As long as it is burning, of flashing you are not supposed to switch of the camera or to remove the memory card. If you still open the memory compartment or switch of the camera or remove the battery, while the camera indicates I'n accessing the memory, serious damage can occur to the memory card.
You could lose all your pictures, because of it.
I would suggest, make sure your battery is charged correctly.
Format your memory card in a PC with FAT 32.
Check if al contacts in the camera are clean and shiny. (Battery and memory card contacts too)
The place the battery and the memory card in the camera and try switching it on again. If it should start, first do a format of the memory card in the camera before you starts taking pictures, of the camera has its own format and can make a folder.

You should be able to switch on the camera without a memory card inside. The camera will us the internal buffer, to let you take a picture in DEMO mode.

I hope the red light does not indicate your internal memory is corrupted. Because if nothing helps and the red light comes back, I think you should contact a Canon service centre.

Canon 1000 d wont turn on

Did you try to recharge the battery? Check if the battery contacts are still clean and shiny? Is the lens still connected as it should be?
These things I should check as a first reaction.
Is the battery still ok, after you charged it? batteries, sometimes just stop working. There is not such thing as a lifetime for a battery that is at least xx months or years. Some batteries die within one year, some survive 10 years. When the camera does not start, place the battery on the list as number one of the suspects.

What's your problem?canon powershot a550 does not power on.

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

I dropped my canon powershot SD 4500 IS and now it won't turn on! It's survived countless other falls just fine, and would turn on immediately then. All times, including this time, have been when...

Really!....you've dropped your camera "countless" other times and now you're concerned because this time, it won't turn on!!! You're not sure what else to do?!!! How about not dropping your camera. How about using the wrist strap. Your dropping luck has run out...your camera does not have nine lives.

Cannon Speedlite 270EX doesn't turn on and I put new batteries in

Try cleaning out the contacts where the batteries touch. Make sure the battery door is completely flush with the body and see if you've inserted everything correctly. The type of battery you use also effects the flash recycle time and how it operates too. Have you tried using different types of batteries? Try using NI-MH instead of Alkaline and see if the speedlite will power. There's a test button on the flash and also an off-on switch you can try toggling around. The flash itself is very simple so if it still won't power on after all of that, you should contact customer support.

The camera's clock battery has worn out. Unfortunately, on most Canon SD series, this battery is not user serviceable. Recommend contacting Canon to see if they'll replace it, hopefully at a reasonable cost. 1-800-OK-CANON

Sd 750 can not power on

You may have a more serious problem that will require professional repair, but the problem that you describe is frequently battery related. Make sure that you have the correct battery type installed, and that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, you may have corrosion on the battery contacts inside that camera that is preventing full battery power from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinstall them in the camera. This cleaning solves the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.
