I have Tiger and I have the latest version of iTunes. When I connect my iPhone, iPhoto opens even though I have no photos on my iPhone. iTunes doesn't open. When I open it manually, my iPhone doesn't show up in the list of devices. Help! This didn't happen when I had Panther. I just installed Tiger.

I have the same problem running os 10.4.9 and iTunes 7.3 and have yet to figure thos one out. Try turning off auto detection in iphoto. Chances are that iphone not only looks like an ipod to the computer but also a digital camera. I actually use thos feature to organise my photos so o havent tried it yet.

We have the same problem. Apple tells us that we need 10.4.10 (Tiger OS). We have 10.3.9 (Panther). So we have to spend $129 and get Tiger.

You need to get the latest itunes.. 7.3 I think it is. Ask the people @ the itunes store or download it off of Apple. I think it was arouns 135.00.

ITunes is a free download. You would have needed the latest 7.3 version to activate the iPhone (or are you using another computer?) so that isn't the problem. Try opening iTunes first, then connect the iPhone. You should see the iPhone in the list.

If there are photos on the iPhone, your Mac will open a "Photo Import" screen automatically. The first version of iTunes 7.3 has been updated and now will auto-open as well.

My iphone keeps saying I need iSO 7.0 how can I get it and for free

Tammy, All Apple updates are for free, so that is one.
When connected to the net with a WiFi router you can follow the next steps. Don't do an upgrade while on cellular, because it will take ages and cost your data limit.
First make a backup of the whole phone, on the computer. Or when you have enough space in the iCloud, backup to the cloud.
If your iPhone is telling, update, you can update, by going to the settings icon. (initially it was on the first screen.) It even will have a little red 1 on top of it. press the settings icon. then scroll down a little to general and then press update. BUT PLEASE. make sure your battery is completely charged or the phone is connected to a power source. When you don't have a WiFi connection, you can use iTunes on the Windows PC or MAC.
Connect the phone to the computer and start iTunes, (if it did not start in the first place)
Then iTunes will tell you, you can update. First let iTunes make a full backup, then tell it can do the update.
It can take up to 15 minutes, but after that the phone should work fine.

If I'm not clear enough, or something goes wrong, please check the Apple support page for the iPhone.

How to upload photos to an iPod touch 3

The iPod Touch was the sister device to the iPhone, and shares most features for running applications, playing music and videos and photos showing. Like the iPhone, it relies on iTunes to sync your media library and portable device and for photos, iTunes bind to a separate program for administration of photos like iPhoto on a Mac or Adobe Photoshop Elements on Windows.

1. Gather your photos in iPhoto or Photoshop Elements or, or in a folder you want to copy them on your computer. Organize your photos in this process makes it so much easier. If you rename your photo collection in iPhoto or Photoshop Elements, it will sync and stay organized on your iPod touch much easier.

2. Connect your iPod Touch to your computer via the USB cable.

3. Open iTunes if it does not start automatically when you connect your iPod to your computer.

4. Click the Photos tab in iTunes. In the top panel is a drop-down menu where you are the source of the photos you want to sync select. If you have iPhoto or Photoshop Elements installed, the default option. You can then specify the name of collections of photos you want to copy to the iPod Touch. If you do not have iPhoto or Photoshop Elements installed, you can navigate to a folder of image files in it.

5. Click Apply. The photos are synced to the iPod Touch.
I forgot code n for my i phone how to open it

  1. Even when your iPhone is locked up, you can still sync it with your computer. Do that first so all your data is backed up in iTunes. If you're using iCloud, you might want to switch it over to your computer for now just to be sure your information is safe.
  2. Put your iPhone into DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode. To do this, reboot your iPhone by holding down the power and home buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. When you see the Apple logo, let go of the power button but continue holding down the home button. Soon you will see an image displaying a USB cable, the iTunes icon, and a message that says "Connect to iTunes."
  3. Assuming you still have your iPhone connected to your computer with iTunes open, you'll also see a message telling you iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and needs to restore. Now you can click the Restore button in iTunes and then wait for iOS to download and install on your iPhone.
  4. Sync your iPhone with iTunes to restore all your data and you'll have it back to normal with no password!

Iphone model a1221 i can not open my phone its locked o forgot passcode How can remove password from my phone?

Restoring your iPhone is a surefire way to wipe out the passcode or password you can't remember, but performing a normal restore won't work as your passcode will prevent it. (Arrgh!) Fortunately, this is easy to override. Just follow these steps:3

  1. Even when your iPhone is locked up, you can still sync it with your computer. Do that first so all your data is backed up in iTunes. If you're using iCloud, you might want to switch it over to your computer for now just to be sure your information is safe.4
  2. Put your iPhone into DFU mode.

How do I add itunes music to iphone from computer itunes library? Is this possible or do I have to buy all new songs from the iphone Apple Store?

Yes it can, connect your iphone to your computer, at this point as soon as your computer recognizes the iphone itunes should open up.. if it doesn't just open it up yourself. Now on he left where all the playlists are there should be an icon with you iphone there, click on it. Now to the right there should be a tab labeled "music", click on it now you can select wether all your music will transfer over or just certain playlist. There you go.

Iphone photos

opened iphoto and it gives "no items to import" ? if true try this. when iPhoto is open and your phone is connected, open the albumn of pictures you've taken with your iphone on your iphone. iPhoto should immediately recognize the new pictures you had taken and should indicate "x items to import." x being number of photos. An alternative to this can be If you individually delete the previously imported iPhone Camera Roll pictures using the trash can on the bottom right (touching the screen brings it up), iPhoto will then see the new iPhone pictures for importing. I believe this can be done without opening at the time of sync the iPhone Camera Roll picture album as you suggested. Give these a try and let me know.
