Probly the sensor on the modul. Take and clean it off with emery cloth and then reinstall it.

Atwood water heater g6a8e lights but flame goes out after 5 to 10 seconds. I replaced igniter / thermocouple and it worked for a while but problem is back. So I need to replace circuit board?

Make sure you pull connector off and clean it and contacts on board. Be sure igniter is in flame good too. Does it have the thermal cut off in-line? Its the little resistor looking piece inside the plastic cover. If it does, and still running a few seconds and going out, remove it from the circuit, and connect wire end to where you removed cut out from, thus eliminating it from the circuit, and test it. If that cures it, replace that cut-out, as it is a safety device in case of flame up, it cuts gas off to prevent fire. Just leave it out long enough to test it.

I have an Atwood waterheater model # G6A-8E. I am having issues with no spark from the ignitor , I have used a long stem lighter to light the burner. It lights and burns well for a couple second seconds...

When you turn it on and hear the ignitor clicking, test for 12 volts at power wire to gas valve. If your not getting 12 VDC to gas valve when ignitor is sparking, replace module.

My atwood 6 gal water heater gas with electric light comes on and runs for a few seconds then goes out,if i turn the switch on several times it will stay on.can you help with this problem? thanks

Try cleaning the electrode that sits in front of the flame, as well as adjusting it,if necessary to make sure it is in front or at least in position that it senses the flame well.

Atwood GC6AA-9E water heater isnt working properly

The ignitor is also a flame sensor. If it's not working to ignite, good chance it's not sensing flame to keep gas flowing as well. Could also be board.

After a few minutes of burner heating the water, gas shuts off.

A couple of things to check:

If possible, remove the pilot gas assembly and clean the gas jet and thermocouple - they can get carboned up and stop working properly. Make sure the pilot flame and deflector is aimed properly and making the thermocouple glow red hot. If the problem persists, you may want to replace the thermocouple and also check the propane regulator.
