Samsung RV515 won't start up after blue warning

Gave me a warning when switched on of a blue box with some info in can't remember exactly what it said it told me if first time seen turn computer off and back on which I did. everything fine for a week or so. then yesterday the blue box flashed up again. I switched it off and back on again but would not set up. pressed the F4 and it asked me to reboot I tried to use the recovery discs to start to read disc then stops with just a horizontal little white line in the top left end corner flashing on and off, screen is blank (black)

Sounds like a bad connection on a ribbon cable or plug comming or going to the LCD display. This is something you should not try to fix as these circuits are very very fradgile and you can easily break or tear a ribbon cable . Call the manufacturer to get a tech to assit you. Good Luck

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts,replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. Look in our monitor repair section for step by step repair guide for this model it should be the same power supply as the 930. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

walkstex, I will answer the last ? first. All LCD monitors WILL NEED to have their "cold-cathode-fluorescent-tubes" replaced!!! As long as your display had a Bright, Crisp image displayed on it before this "FLASHING" symptom occured, then you don't need new CCF tubes. Your problem seems to be occuring in the electronic ballast circuit called an INVERTER. It Takes 12-15v DC and turns it into 800-1200v ac to light up the CCF tubes. This is the same technology used in the new style curlieQ screw-in light bulbs called CFL's. Only difference is they use what is known as a CONVERTER circuit----AC to AC!!!! And the tubes hung horizontally on the rear of your LCD panel are thin and straight. So, to answer your first ? Yes, it is an issue of getting the CCF tubes to light up. (backlighting) Now, I should also mention that there could possibly be a problem with the main power supply in the monitor. It is called a "switch-mode-power-supply" (smps) that supplies DC for the digital signal processing board (typ +5v) and 12-15v for the inverter. Well, This typical type of symptom could be as simple as a thermally fractured solder joint on the power supply board or some bad Filter capacitors could also need replacing. I suggest that you search web to find out more about the things I have mentioned in the above text. Do search for things like "swollen capacitors", "Bulging Capacitors" and checkout www.badcaps.net for some pictures of typical failures. Samsung RV515 how do you reboot a laptop?


Oh dear sounds like hard drive failure. When the computer cannot find instructions to load am operating system it asks for them. I think your computer hard disk is given up the ghost which I'd where it would normally load the boot information. The boot information is the operating system like Windows. There are ways to check the hard disk I do hope you had back ups though.

Suggest you reinstall the Audio (Sound) drivers.
DO NOT suggest you use Device Manager, and save yourself the trouble.
Suggest you download from Samsung Support, AND install; instead.

[Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device.
The audio chipset is the device, I do not know what the O/S is ]

Problem is I do Not know what O/S you are using.
Operating System.
I assume it to be a version of Windows, though.

Now click on the blue Driver heading.

There are 3 Audio drivers listed.
All 3 are in blue, and start with -
Sound (Audio) (Driver)

One is for Windows XP.

Two are for Windows 7, and either 32-bit, or 64-bit.
They are BOTH the same Version (ver.6.0.1.6400), so I think this is a Samsung mistake. Double-listing of the same audio driver file.

To the far right on each file, you will see ZIP in white letters, and in a blue rectangular 'box'.
This means it is a Zip file.

A Zip file is used to send large amounts of information more easily.
It is a Compressed file, and needs to be uncompressed after receiving, or can be said as 'unzipped'.

Using the audio driver file for Windows XP for an example;

After you click on the blue rectangle with ZIP in it, a small window pops up -
Global Download Center

Click on the blue rectangle with SEND in it.
Takes a few seconds then a small window will pop up on the right -
(Took about 15 seconds)
Opening Sound_WXP_5.10.0.6318.ZIP

Make SURE there is a Green dot in the small circle, to the left of -
Save File.
If not; click in the empty circle to the left of Save File.
Now go below in the window, and click on OK.

A small download window will come up on the left.
Allow the file to fully download, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.

To the left of the next window click on - Extract all files.
At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on Next, Next, and Finish.

If not instructed to restart your computer, do so.

[Windows XP:
Click on Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart.
Windows Vista / Windows 7:
Click on the Windows logo button (Start), then on Restart ]

1st You download Webcam Driver.

After this install the Webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager s
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
Driver will be install.

Emachines E627 laptop won't turn on, but the power button is blue.


Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On until you get the Safe Mode Option.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'


A 'System Restore' window will appear.

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next


Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '


Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.


The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.


Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

Just curious, if my washer won't fill but the spin cycle still works, does that rule out the lid switch as the problem?

No if doesnt rule out the lid switch yet in fact that very likely is the problem,the lid switch asm. is wired through a fuse that if lid switch is bad the fuse will blow and in addation to the fuse being wired to the lid switch,it too is wired to the water inlet valve and will not fill if the fuse on lid switch asm. is blown
I know this by replacing more lid switch/fuse assamblies in 30 year appliance repair career that i can remember. I dare say (by assumption) that the tech that came to diagnose your washer gave you the exact correct diagnosis

The gas pump was replace on my 1999 ford expedition but still is not working


There are a few things you can check. The first thing and most likely what the problem is would be the fuel cut off switch. Below is a picture of it the location of it. Where you see the blue arrow pointing down is where the button is that you push to reset it if it is "popped". If that is good the next thing you can check is the fuse for the fuel pump. That fuse is located in the power distribution box located in the engine compartment under the hood (picture of that location below as well) I also gave you a diagram of the layout of the fuses with numbers. The fuse for the fuel pump is the fuse located in the number 10 position and should be a 20 amp fuse. Last you may need to check the fuel pump relay. That relay is located in the same fuse panel and will be the one marked number 301. I hope this helps and good luck.
