This is just one of those problems that come associated with this type of camcorder. Try recovering the data by downloading the program at the following link and trying to fix this problem with it. Please let me know how this goes and if it doesn't work let me know as I would be glad to keep trying to get this fixed. I don't believe you did anything wrong but I would call Sony about this and see if they have any new suggestions for this. Personally I would return the player since the quality isn't as good as other cameras.

After a few videos my camera says movie recording disabled. is there anyway to fix this without resetting?

Most cameras quit recording if there is not enough space available in the Memory drive. If your videos are being saved to internal memory rather than an external (SD) card, there might not be enough space to record more than "a few videos". If videos are being saved to internal memory, adding/installing a "SD" card should fix your problem for you.

Device not detected

Try going into the BIOS (or CMOS) of your computer and look for
Legacy USB Enabled/Disabled
If it is set to Enabled, set it to Disabled
If it is set to Disabled, set it to Enabled

This sometimes fixes these kind of problems.
Hope this helps.

Camera shows hd movie recording disableD

HD movie recording disabled: SOLVED for 2 HDRSR5's (work and home): After copying all movies to computer, "DELETE ALL" from HD view. Evidentally if you have been deleting movies using computer, the still images used for 'scene selections' remain and fill its capacity. You must be in HD view when choosing Delete All (that is, rather than just deleting all Standard movie clips)

I Installed the Lexicon Lambda and followed all of the instructions to the letter. I can hear sound out with no problem, but when I record, it records from my laptops internal mic. Thus, everything in the...

You will need to go into your sound properties, you can do this by clicking on the speaker Icon thats down by the clock (lower rights hand side of your screen) that should bring up sliders for everything.
Their is also other options and advanced options you may need to enable that could be specific to your devices. but the main thing here would be for you to disable the one mic and enable the one you want and also possibly lower its sensitivity levels.

guys hope you all found the solution like me who had same issue. if you noticed, it says about the aspect ratio and that means the formated disc aspect ratio is not compatible with the aspect ratio your camera need. so re-formating the dvd with right aspect ratio solved the problem quickly and we have peace.
