SOURCE: my bosch exxcel dishwasher will not drain after wash cycle

That is because the water level switch activated by the floating sensor is stuck.

You probably need to have the water level switch replaced.

I have a guide here to walk you through the process of clearing the drain system. You most likely have a clog somewhere and the dishwasher can't proceed because it would cause it to flood.

SOURCE: Dishwasher stuck on wash cycle

Hello,

Based on your description I'd say the issue is with the control. Bosch has had a history of this exact problem I'm about to lay out for you and this is the first thing I'd be looking for if called out to service the unit with the symptoms you've described. Heck if you called me with this description I'd be happy to bring you a new control and have a first time complete. ( unless you requested a re-solder option...see below re: my opinion on this )

I digress,

As I've alluded to the issue is within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ).

My first suggestion would be calling in an authorized bosch servicer if that is an option for you and your budget however, If you cannot afford that option or feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself. It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s and takes forever to finish and eventually display's the "1" error ( on models with a display ) because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed.

**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau, to service your machine.**

Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness.

Good luck.

I have a SHU5305us/u12 and my front door lettering got erase. anyone have a picture or a manual that tells me what each button means.

Cycle Interruption

As a safety feature the dishwasher will automatically turn itself off whenever the door is opened. However, if the door is opened quickly while in a wash or rinse cycle some water may splash out of the dishwasher. For this reason it is recommended that the machine always be switched off before opening the door.

To Interrupt a Cycle

1. Press the on/off button to stop operation.

2. Wait at least 10 seconds (or until the water noises stop) before opening the door.

To Resume a Cycle

1. SHU/SHI models, close the door and press the on/off button.

2. SHV models, push the on/off button and close the door.

Changing a Cycle

For Bosch dishwasher models SHI 6800 and 4320, SHU 5300, 5310 and 6800 press the program button of the desired cycle TWICE. For all other Bosch dishwasher models, press the program button of the desired cycle ONCE. The chosen cycle button (or the light above it) becomes illuminated, showing that it has been selected.

* SHU 3030 and SHU 3130 models do not have program lights.

Cancelling a Cycle

Each control panel shows which buttons to simultaneously push to cancel a cycle. Refer to your dishwasher to find the cancel drain buttons on your particular model.

1. Press the indicated buttons at the same time and hold for approximately 3 seconds.

2. When the drain pump noises stop and the LED display or clean light indicate that the end of the cycle has been reached, the dish

washer is reset.

3. Press the on/off button to turn the dishwasher off.

4. The dishwasher is now ready to run a selected cycle. Add more detergent if necessary.

How can I interrupt my dishwasher cycle without causing it drain out all the water and then have to start from the beginning?

Hey friend, thank you for the post!
From my understanding you are trying to interrupt your dishwasher cycle without causing it to drain all the water out and then have to start it from the beginning. Once the door has been opened the wash cycle will stop and once it has been closed again your appliance would start up where the cycle left off. Hope this is helpful - Matt

Motor keeps running. Water heats fine. Help

One of the reasons for motor not draining during normal cycle is the check valve is stuck. It is meant to return to normal during drain cycle but close during wash. I think the cancel is resetting it and letting water out.

You have to allow the drain cycle to finish completely, or find cancel drain dot points and press both at the same time, to reset program, open the door and close it to make sure the micro-switch activate properly

Dishwasher not draining after a power cut

I would run the heated dry cycle a few times to try and get rid of that residual water, then restart the cycle and see if it work now. If it still is a problem try cleaning out the drain line behind the dishwasher, this is a very common problem with draining. If not that then might need a valve or if you have a new garbage disposal you need to punch out a peice of the plastic or it wont drain. Hope this helped, good luck
