Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: WirelessModem

First to clarify; is this a WIRELESS ROUTER?
If it is OK, there are also LAN/ethernet outputs on it as well.
DESKTOP COMPUTERS do not typically contain Wi-Fi apadters or 'antenna', these are in most all laptops made these days.
If you have a wireless Wi-Fi Router then it should be fairly straitforward to connect laptops (Start Menu>Connect To, in Windows)
You may have to either HARD WIRE (ethernet line) or buy an internal Wi-Fi or USB Wi-Fi Adapter/antenna. If it's a fairly recent wireless router this becomes fairly straight forward after that.

SOURCE: set up my printer to work wirelessly with my laptop

Is your printer able to accept a USB ??

Purchase the wireless networking USB connector...Install the software onto your laptop and if your laptop has wireless connections already, it shoudl automatically pick up the printer. If not you need to also purchase a wireless card for your computer.

SOURCE: i have an at&t modem

How are you connecting to the modem? Is this broadband/cable connection to internet? Are you going through a router. And as a side note, NEVER EVER EVER post your password to anything online.

Call up the company that made your computer, and tell them of this error. You are most likely missing the driver for your computer that allows wireless internet. They will tell you exactly what you need.

I'm looking for the password to set up a kindle

You might check on the back of or under the modem to see if it is written on a sticker.

Else log into the modem using a computer. The address is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. In your internet browser, type http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 to access the modem configuration interface. By default the username is blank, and the password is admin.

Click on the wireless tab, and you can view/change the settings. You will find the wep key there. It's what you will have to enter on the kindle when it asks you for a network password.

Recheckyour password at the router. start your browser on the laptop and type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. A pop up window should appear for you to "log into" your router. IF you have never done this then leave the user name blank and type "admin" in the password. Once your connected to the router, choose "wireless" from the top menu and go to wireless security. Make sure your security settings are set and what the "pass phrase" is. maybe reset a pass phrase and choose WPA for the settings.

Trying to connect desk top computer and lap top computer

There is only two ways to possibly connect both the desktop and the laptop in the network. That is to purchase a router so you can connect them both or a route with a wireless and then the laptop (Which most new ones have a wireless capability installed) can connect wireless from anywhere in the home. If you already have a Cable or DSL Modem it may have a wireless capability. Otherwise you would have to get a wireless modem. Hope this helps. Bud
