Question about Heating & Cooling
Hi, I just finished installing a Senville Mini Split HVAC unit. After evacuating the lines, I opened the valves on the outside unit, and turned on power. (The outside unit was supposed to be shipped with enough R410a to run the unit, with the lines supplied.) I didn't hear a great deal of hissing noise when I opened the line valves, so it could be low on R410a, but??? It shows an error code of E4, but there is no documentation with it to tell me what that code means. The compressor does not function on either heat or cool, but the blower does work on fan only mode. All the settings seem to turn on the correct lights on the panel, but it has this error code posted. Can anyone tell me what that code means? I suspect it's telling me it's low on R410a, but...
The model is: KFR-35GWZ/BM
Thanks in advance...
Corley I got the same error code E4 with KFR-50GWZ/BM, but no where in manual which mentions this. I could not find from their Website http://gt-world.com/product_info.php?products_id=34
Will have to call them tomorrow. Has anybody gotten the solution yet? thnx.
Thanks for your question, you will need a set of gauges on the unit to determine if the unit came precharged, if it didn't then you will need to vacuum down the unit, at least three times, after each time release a little 410a into the system them evacuate again, 410a is bad for drawing moisture, did you put an in-line filter dryer on as well ? after you find out about the freon level, then look at the name plate rating for amount of 410a needed, before adding the freon, use nitrogen to leak check the system, then weigh in the proper amount of 410a, unit should run really well after that, hope that helped, thanks again for your question, please feel free to come back if you have any more questions, thanks, mr.grzz

SOURCE: Senville Mini Split Error Code
The E4 light on your system is saying there is a commiuntion problem between the inside unit and the outside heatpump unit.Make sure there are no loose wires and you wired it properly,The S wire is the commiuntion link wire make sure it is a solid run between both units.I had the same problem with my system and it was the s wire not making a good connection.
