Nub under key on macbook won't pop up - stays flat

I would take it to the Apple Store and see what they say, invariably they will replace the key if it is the plastic bit that has failed. This forum also has a way of fixing the key yourself look at the comment from tgarza but I would take it to the Apple Store first. Hope this helps.

The left speaker of my Macbook air produces a cracking sound when in use

something could have gotten into the speaker and touch the membrane hence the crackling when the membrane moves can try to blow it out with a compressed aire can. if that fails, would assume your speaker is broken somebody has to open the Macbook and replace the part. If you want to pay to have somebody do it for you there is a third party Macbook Repair Service. However, if you want to do it yourself, the part is available on ebay. Here's an Macbook Repair guide. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you.

sounds like the keyboard is failing check for debris under the keys use a can of compressed air, q-tips, and rubbing alcohol. If this doesn't fix the issue you will need to replace the top case (aka keyboard)

I load parallel (vistas) on my macbook pro but the space for it got full too quickly. I compressed the C drive and after the first reboot it did't want to bootup all the way. saying bootmgr is compressed...

If you can slave the drive into another computer or laptop and go to that drive through My computer, you right click on the drive and go to properties and you will see a box way at the bottom(under general) that says "Compress drive to save disk space" ,it probably has a checkmark in it from when you chose to compress it...take out the checkmark and click apply, then ok.Power down the computer and remove the drive and put it back into the original laptop(computer)..making sure all your cables are reconnected, then power up and it should boot back to normal.*Note*..make sure the jumpers to the hard drive you are working with are set to slave then back to master when going to slave in the other computer and back to master in the main computer, this applies to IDE hard drives. If you are using USB(sata) drive, then your computer should decide automatically whe you plug the drive in to make the changes. Please let me know how you make out,or,if you have problems with the proceedure..I will be happy to help you further if needed:)

Installed vista on new macbook and found that drivers are missing

While operating in the windows mode, insert your mac os leopard disc and it should auto launch the program that will allow you to install all needed drivers and settings.
The mac os disc will completely set up your computer in window... but let it run fully.. don't interrupt it.. this should set up for your wifi screen res etc...
If you need help with printer drivers... download a copy of Bonjour from's free and it will find your printers and set it up for you!
Way to go Mac... way to make windows work!

Let me know if this gets you operational
