Adjustment screw on side of Maytag icemaker???

Put in a new icemaker and with the front cover removed there is a large white plastic gear that says do not move manually. But on the front side of the icemaker is an adjustment screw that moves that gear. My makers makes 12 cubes a day. Is this some sort of setting to remove cubs?

No. That setting changes the size of the cube.

ICE MAKER MAKES ICE BUT WILL NOT LET THE ICE ROLLOUT INTO THE TRAY.

You will need to replace the module. It is accessed by removing the white, plastic cover from the front of the icemaker. Once off, remove the three brass colored screws and disconnect the wire arm on the RH side of the icemaker. The new module will install in reverse order. The module is available at the link below.

Module $48.50

My icemaker stopped working the water on it still works the icemaker function works but it is just not making ice any suggestions

Hello,

Try this. Take the front cover off, this should just pop off. Take a real small hammer and lightly tap on the brass coated plate where your plastic gears are and water fill adjustment screw is. Sometimes this will get just a little frost and jam the gears up. Also check your gears and make sure they are not striped. These are plastic gears, you should have a space on one of them that makes it trip for water fill. If that does not work check the line where water comes in take a hair dryer and defrost it. Sometimes they freeze up. Last thing, remove front cover and check for burnt wires. If none of this works you probably need a new one. I have fixed many by tapping on front metal cover where the plastic gears are.
Also try simply by removing and reinserting the filter.

Good luck....

Loud noise from JD-21 ice maker

Usually a stripped gear or a bad icemaker motor. Remove the icemaker front cover by using a flat screwdriver to pry it off between the bottom of the icemaker and the cover. Inspect the icemaker to see if the large white plastic gear has any broken teeth or is cracked in the middle. The motor is in the 10:00 position of the white gear. If the gear is ok, and the noise is coming from the motor, replace the motor.
After unplugging the refrigerator you can remove the motor assembly by removing three screws in the mounting plate, and then two screws holding the motor on. The parts house also sells the complete icemaker, however your refrigerator is already 29 years old if I am reading your model number correctly. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

You may can take the plastic end cover off and find the mechanical switch which is supposed to be pushed when you raise the arm and cut it off. Being that old a slight adjustment (bending) may fix your problem.

Hi, My refrigerator icemaker seems to be putting in too much water, is there a way to control the amount of water it gets?

Carefully remove white plastic cover on front of ice maker. On top right you will see a screw mounted sideways and a plus and minus mark on the ice maker. This is the water feed adjustment screw.

Icemaker won't fill

its a tricky one to diag, this IDI{in door ice maker}. id be interested to see something in the ice maker head assy itself, under the right side bottom of the ice maker asssy is a 1/4in screw, holding a cover for the wire harness,if you remove the screw and the plastice cover it will allow you to slide the ice maker assy foward, youll need to depress a small plastic tab on the left side wall preventing the ice maker from coming out any more than an inch or so. After that the ice maker will twist out and by inserting a screwdriver into ice maker cover you be able to "pop" off the front white cover to reveal the inner workings. a problem with some of their modules is that the center white gear actually cracks off the module head itself, if thats the case when you open the cover, youll need to replace the ice maker assy

Ice Maker problem

remove the cover on the frount of the icemaker and on the right side of the module there is a little and i mean little white adjusting screw, turn it clockwise 1/2 half of a turn clockwise and this is what adjusts the fill time of the ice maker, you may need to adjest back and forth to get the desired size of cubes but do not go more that one complet turn of the screw to get the size
if you can not get it by doing this then the frount module will ned to be replaced

Ice maker # S10626636 water level adjustment

IF THE ICE MAKER IS OVERFLOWING, THE ADJUSTMENT SCREW WON'T HELP. ON MODULAR ICE MAKERS, THE BIG
WHITE GEAR ON THE FRONT BEHIND THE COVER HAS CIRCUIT TRACES ON ITS BACKSIDE THAT WILL ARC, BURNING THE PLASTIC GEAR, BRIDGING THE FILL CIRCUIT WITH ANOTHER TRACE, MORE THAN DOUBLING THE FILL TIME. THE MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. (GEAR IS NOT AVAILABLE BY ITSELF).THE MODULE IS THE SQUARE PLASTIC ASSEMBLY MOUNTED TO THE FRONT OF THE ICE MAKER WITH THREE SCREWS. INCLUDES THE MOTOR.
