Question about HP PSC 1610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

How to scan multi-page documents (text) into a single pdf file?

I have a Mac PowerBook G4 and HP PSC 1610 All-in-one Printer/Scanner/Copier.
I'm trying to scan a multi-page document (memo) into a single .pdf file and could not find directions in the standard manual, nor online.
Could anyone please advise?
Thanks so much!

I believe you would have to have PDF editing software  to combine two pdf files? I beleive the scanner only writes one file per scan.

I AM NOT ABLE TO SCAN DIRECTLY TO PDF FROM MY HP 4255 ALL IN ONE PRINTER

Scan directly using Adobe software from computer

  • 1 Position the first page of your document on the flatbed scanner and close the lid.
  • 2 In Adobe Acrobat, under the File menu, choose "Create PDF", then "From Scanner" and then "Custom Scan."
  • 3 In the Scan dialog box, choose your configuration settings. This will vary based on the nature of the document you wish to scan (e.g. color or black & white, images or text).
  • 4 Click "Scan."
  • 5 When the scanning process is complete, Acrobat will ask you if you wish to scan more pages into the file. If you do, position the next page on the flatbed scanner and click "Scan More Pages." Otherwise, click "Scan Is Complete."
  • 6 Repeat the above steps as necessary to scan a multi-page document.

HP PSC 1315 ALL IN ONE. HOW DO I CREATE A MULTI-PAGE PDF DOCUMENT. I HAVE A MAC. I DONT HAVE ADOBE. I CANT SEEM TO DOWNLOAD IT. I HAVE FIGURED OUT HOW TO SCAN AN IMAGE AND SAVE IT AS PDF...BUT I...

The HP support website doesn't specify that you would be able to do that. Normally, in the scanning preferences from where you scan/preview the document, you would have a radio button to tick for multiple pages.
Alternatively, you can use this site to combine your PDF files into a single one: http://www.mergepdf.net/ Simple click Pick PDF, select your files and then click Merge PDF, when it will finnish you can download the file.

Can I scan a hard copy into Word from an HP PSC 1610? I want to get an editable document, but don't know how. Is this possible or is there a different solution? Thanks.

the cd that came with your printer should have an OCR program included with it. if not, you can download a free trial of a known OCR program here. btw, OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition. it's the only way to scan documents to an editable form.

How do I Scan a doucment with my HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet

    Sir,
open HP director click SCAN DOCUMENT set scan for editable text YES set original contains graphics NO if it doesn't, YES if it does (no results in smaller file) if you want to create a PDF file, leave SCAN TO set to SAVE TO FILE if you want to create a word document, change SCAN TO to MICROSOFT WORD click SCAN click ACCEPT (bottom right) tell it NO if you're done, YES if you want to scan something else If you scan more than one thing all of your scans will end up in a single multi-page file rename & save file to permanent location as you would normally.
    Good Luck

Scanning Multiple pages into one pdf

Scanning a multi-page document as a .pdf file reverts the settings for rotation, selected area, etc. to default for any pages after the first page. This applies to Mac OSX 10.3, 10.4, & 10.5. A simple, but tedious work-around is to scan each page as a separate file and easily recombine them using OSX Preview. Just open the first page, view the Sidebar, and drag-drop the additional page files into the sidebar. Save and it's all one multi-page .pdf.

Don't know how to set scanner for multiple page scan into single pdf file

The supplied Canon software is horrible, but it can be done!

Launch ScanGearStarter, choose advanced tab and click preferences button, then select scan tab.
Untick box "Automatically quit ScanGear....." then click ok.
(This box being ticked totally prevents multipage single file scanning).

Now choose simple mode tab, select the document type, dpi and document size.
Now click the green "Multi Scan" button, place the document on the scanner glas and press next in the new window.

The page will be scanned and the ScanGear window will return, just click "Multi Scan" again and place next document, press next. Keep repeating until all pages are scanned, then close the ScanGear window.

This will bring up a third window showing thumbnails of each page, any of these pages can be deselected if required.
The other important step is to choose from the pull down list Saved as Type: "MultiPagePDF".

Choose the location for saving the file and click save.
    Hallelujah! .......stupid software.
