a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

wow, a little restraint next time :).. My thinkpad was dropped into a hottub let it sit for two weeks and everything except the M key worked.
Anyway I can tell you it's not worth your time, pull the Harddrive out go to tigerdirect get a brand new laptop for around 300-500$ and get a 25$ EIDE (or SATA if so equiped) to USB adapter so at least you can get your documents and what not from the old system..

SOURCE: Laptop keyboard not operational
If you replaced the keyboard with a Dell replacement 1501 keyboard and it still doesn’t work then yes the motherboard will probably have to be replaced. If your son spilled water on the laptop it could clear up after it completely dries. If it was juice, soft drink or sport drink the laptop could develop other issues. The syrup in these kinds of drinks don’t evaporate, they just remain there and accumulate foreign particles like dust, hair, dirt and eventually start to corrode electrical contacts like acid. Similar to the terminal posts on a car battery.

I recommend you to change the Keyboard from authorised service center.
Else you have to open the screws from the base and and remove keyboard. and clean it thoughroghly.

SOURCE: How do I remove keyboard?
Most dell keyboard are "released" from underneath, turn your laptop over and look for the screws with a K next to them. Sometimes there is also a samll removable panel at the top of the keyboard hiding 2 screws.

Look for the bars, that look like the ATT signal level bars, down by the clock on the lower left hand side. Left click , and select your wireless access point.
