Depending on what you are shimming here are a few options. 1. home depot or lowes actually sell different sized shems according to there thickness just ask someone in lumber and they should be able to direct you to them. 2. your guitar picks come in all different thickness's so you can cut and trim them to the size you need to shim whatever your working on.

My amp makes this static noise wich goes off as soon as i touch one of the strings or the metal part of the guitar cable. What can i do to make the noise disapear

This is a common problem... Make sure your amp is plugged into a three wire grounded receptacle. Keep the guitar away from magnetic fields of transformers in amps and effects units. Make sure you have a high quality guitar cable.

My s5470 does not sustain well at all.also, the bridge pickup sounds ok but lacks ''attack'' in upper register.great guitar otherwise.i use a peavy 5150 60watt amp.

I personally use Seymour Duncan Humbucker pickups, and have never been disappointed. You might want to take your guitar up to a music shop and try it on different amps to see if your amp is your problem, or if it is your guitar's pickups or wiring. You could also try adjusting the height of the pickups until the sound you are looking for is achieved. I have also had guitar cables make a big difference in the sound. Make sure you have a good set of cables, and you may want to adjust the EQ settings of your amp to make up what the guitar lacks.

Bussing sound comes out the tube, even when it it connected correctly

Make sure you have the correct power adapter, not a substitute. Make sure your guitar is outputing enough... You LIKELY will need a guitar that has a preamp in the guitar, (not a passive pickup guitar). This device is nothing more than a small amp that drives a speaker which the sound travels up the hose. If your guitar creates a buzzing noise, then this device will do that too... Plug a set of headphones directely into your guitar to verify the sound is clean... NOTE, only one side of headphone will have guitar in it if the headphones are stereo type.

I bought my Taylor acoustic/electric brand new. It sounds great, but when i plug it into my amp no sound comes out. I replaced the battery, but it still failed to work. When i plug it in to the amp and...

IF YOUR GUITAR has a built in tuner, make sure the tuner is off as it disables output while tuning... The other thing is to check if you have a volume control on the guitar that might be set too low.. Make sure if you are using 1/4 inch plug guitar cable that it is NOT a TRS balanced cable, as that will turn off the power in the guitar.

My Tascam CD GT1 mkii guitar trainer is doing everything except when I plug my guitar into the unit, I can not hear my guitar?

Here is the manual if you don't have one:http://www.tascam.com/details;9,21,23,19.html Make sure your guitar cord is working. Make sure your are plugged into the Guitar/Mike input jack.Do not connect a guitar amp to this jack via line out on the amp or otherwise. Set the Guitar/Mike switch to Guitar. Use the Input control to adjust the level of the input.Adjust your Headphone level using the Output control.Carefully read pages 12, 13, 14 and 15 of the manual. There are various combinations of controls that would make your guitar too quiet to be heard. Example: Mix Balance page 24. Let me know if this helps.
