Question about byD sign 3032 30 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

Bydsign d:3032 TV broken

The TV turns on, says the brand then searching for signal logo comes in the right lower corner of the screen and the rest of the screen is black. Then the picture flashes through the screen periodically, alternating with the black searching for signal screen. Audio and cable work fine. The TV just never gets the "signal" that it is searching for. TV brand is Byd:sign, model d:3032. I believe that the power adapter is accounting for the problem, but I am not sure. I have dusted everything, un plugged and replugged everything, but nothing works. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Data.ul.com and amazon.com both carry your power supply. Also make sure your tuner card is not loose or have broken pieces or any loose solder. Also make sure your cables are the good stiff kind. The flexible ones are cheap and cause a lot of interfearence.
Make sure all connectins are tight.
A cable signal booster box is available for purchase at many local hardware stores. I don't believe it is necessary unless you have many televisions hooked up to the cable.
Is your cable hooked up directly to the tv or are you using a vcr?

It sounds like it's not getting a signal. If it's not getting a signal then there is a problem between where the tv is listening for the signal and the antenna. That could be a whole lot of things. It could be as small as an error in the circuit board to a bad cord. It sounds like you ruled out the cords or obvious problems so maybe it has something to do with what's going on inside the television. I'm not sure if the power would make the signal go out unless your talking about power to an antenna. Basically, there is a break in the line between where the tv hears and the antenna recieves.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

It would seem that you have 2 concerns:

  • signal source - refers to the incoming, be it cable TV, a DVD, home theater receivers, satellite/decoder or even a game console. If none ios found and they are connected, then probable fault would be with the input module/processor. This is the part that accepts all of these inputs and selects which to switch to display as per your choice;
  • power adapter - determine the requirements, voltage (VDC) and current (ampere). Any adapter with identical specs/ratings would serve the purpose as long as the connector/plug and its polarity matches that of the TV.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Move the cables that the signal is sent by. Ex. 75 Ohm. coaxial cable, hd cord A/V cord. If sceen does this on command then the cord needs replacement. Also check to see if there and any loose connections.

Check To Make Sure You Have Cable To The House Which Im Sure you Have.

Then Unplug The T.v And Hold On/Off For 30 Seconds Then Release And Plug Back In. When Turning It On Hold The Power Button For 10 Seconds Or Until It Beeps.

Check To See If Problem Persists.

How do I fix Samsung TV

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

The upper left quadrant of my Sharp Aquos LC-65D64U does not display.

Check the connections of the flat cables that connects the T'Con board to LCD pane for any loose contact. Re-seat them. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" or "Flipcard" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. You can also click the [Home] tab to see the latest updates. It will make search easy. There are more than 1350 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there or make a search by type in the brand name of the device in the "Search Box", at the top right of the display window.

We have a 11yrold Mitsubishi big screen vs45609 . When we turned the tv on this morning the lower right corner is stretched looking almost swirled looking . The rest of the screen is fine. You can see it...

If you are getting stretching or swirling in one area of the screen it could be a couple of things. One it could be that the projector as this appears to be a rear projection unit can be going out or that its loosing the ability to guide the beam to that area of the screen. I think either way the most economical solution would be to purchase a replacement unit as a newer unit will also consume way less power especially if you look for one that has the energy star logo on the product.
