SOURCE: After charging overnight, Roomba only runs about

Reset the Roomba by removing it from the charger, then holding "spot" and "dock" for about twelve seconds. When you let go, the unit will play an ascending series of notes. Then recharge it overnight. If the run time is still short, give Customer Support a call-- be sure to have the Roomba with you when you do.

My vacuum runs down quickly. What is the best way to charge it up. I plug it in after using it every time ?

Hello, Janrt -

Depending upon how old the vacuum cleaner is, the rechargeable battery may need to be replaced so that the battery will hold a charge longer than it does now.

Rechargeable batteries do not last forever.

You will need to find the right replacement rechargeable battery for your vacuum cleaner. The web site for the maker of your vacuum may offer the right replacement batteries for sale.

Note: I have found that some replacement rechargeable batteries for some items cost more than the price of purchasing a replacement appliance.

Best wishes.

WILL NO CHARGE

The battery is probably no longer rechargeable due to age or to the number of times it has been recharged. If the battery can not be replaced, then the entire vacuum needs to be replaced with a new one.

Batteries are not recharging. Where can I get replacements for Model EL1000 Pronto Vac?

Let me say this; The battery replacement for the Electrolux is not a owner level replacement procedure. However, you can replace the 4 original EMX1600sS batteries . The battery model is Tenergy 2/3A Size Rechargeable Battery 1.2V 1600mAh NiMH W/ Tabs Those are a little smaller than the originals but with the same capacity of 1600mAh and can be easily found in the web. Anything under those specs should work. These types of battery's will cost about $15.00 on the web. The battery's are in the hand held unit bottom or back side area, you access them by taking out all the screws in the back side of the hand unit.

Battery will not charge

Rechargeable batteries (usually Ni-Cd) have a finite life and after a certain number of recharge cycles (usually 500 times under optimum conditions) will loose their capacity to retain a charge as one or more cells will become 'worn'. Unless your appliance has a 'smart' charger circuit, leaving the appliance always plug-in will greatly reduced the batteries pack life due to overheating/overcgarging.
Unless you can test and replace as required the individual batteries, it may not be a cost effective solution to replace the batteries.
Hope it helps.

Can you take the Swivel Sweeper battery pack apart to replace the batteries with new rechargeable batteries? Batteries look like AA or AAA, but it appears that the battery pack is sealed. Is there any way...

Yes you can if you have a way to cut through the plastic outer case,(I used a Dremel rotary tool). Inside you will find six double A Ni-mh batteries. I found eight of these for sale on ebay for around ten bucks, then all you do is solder some wire to the batteries like the original battery pack and tape up the case and charge.

My Dirt Devil kurv no longer recharges. I think I need to replace the battery. Called the manufacturer and they can't help me.

Obtaining a battery will be difficult; I had a similar problem with my Kone model. Check that the plug you have has a fresh new fuse though as it may be the connection lead.
Sadly because the batteries are built into the machine its difficult to find a replacement - ALL cordless hand dust busters suffer from difficult to find batteries because at cost they are reasonably cheap and not really designed to have batteries that can be found easily.
Well not until someone brings out a model that has batteries that are available...

Roller/sweeper on my Electrolux Pronto

After 3 years my Pronto slowed down and needed new batteries. I just replaced all 8 internal batteries. It cost just under $30 with shipping and took 1 hour of soldering. If you're not handy with a soldering iron, don't attempt it. All of the batteries are soldered together in series. You need to order the 8 (4/5 Sc size, 2000 mAh) Nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries with tabs. The source I used was www.BatteryJunction.com. Here's a link to the battery page: http://www.batteryjunction.com/tenergy-45th-sc-1-2-2000-tabs.html

PS The vac now runs GREAT!
