That is a job by it self. If you don't want to damage your printer, I'd suggest you take it to an HP dealer pay some money and get it first checked and if so be the case that it has to change, let them change it.

SCX-4200 printer - no power in machine, no display, but power definitely going in. Any ideas please?

It is most probably a problem with the power supply inside the unit. If the unit switches on, but black squares appear on the display, it is a capacitor that is blown (most probably a 10v 1500uF capacitor) otherwise if the unit does not power up at all, the fuse on the power supply has blown.

Replace the toner cartridge.
If that doesn't FixYa then chances are the high voltage board is defective or it's fuse is blown.
Check and/or replace the HV board.

The power does not come on when the "On" button is pushed. What's the problem?

Hi:
Check near the power input connector for a small fuse compartment, the line protect fuse may be blown and in need of replaceing. If there is none then the power supply is not getting power the fuse may be internal to the unit. Or the pwr supply has failed entirely, but check the simple solutions first, usually no power is due to the printer being plugged in an switched outlet or blown fuse or power supply failure.

I have a 50.2 fuser error. What does that mean

Loose fuser tabs on the HP LaserJet 4000/4050/4100 - a potential 50.2 error If you experience a "50.2" fuser error while using a LaserJet 4000, 4050, or 4100 fuser, you should check to see if two tabs on the fuser have come loose. (They can get dislodged during shipping or during istallation.)
Turn your printer off and remove your fuser. Flip it to the gear side (the left side) and press inwards on the fuser tab to make sure it is fully clicked in place, as shown below.

Then flip the fuser over to the right side (the non-gear side) and press in on the other fuser tab to make sure it is also fully clicked in place.

HP 2100 LaserJet, was functioning ok, now won't power up, power to AC plug is ok ... Is there a fuse somewhere ? Jim

Remove rear cover and fuser.

Blown fuses usually point to a bad power supply which is the circuit board under the fuser.

Power Issue HP 9500n

Hi did you have a power surge before this problem? Or did you pull the power cord out of the wall socket before the system fans had shut down? If the answer to the above is yes then unfortunately you have blown the power supply board. The only way to get the machine working again is to replace the board.

If the answer is no then as you may have blown the power board it could be simple as the power switch is faulty or open the back of the machine and check the power board it is the one with the power supply input attached. I cannot remember if there is a fuse but using a continuity tester test the fuses if any.

Thanks J
