The LAN is not stable. I cant connect a local area cable to it and I have lost my display drivers

Hi,

According to your problem first check the LAN cable with LAN tester kit. Unplug the cable and plug it again. Then reboot the system and the switch (if connected) both. You can reinstall the LAN driver also. If it doesn't solve your problem then you have to repair the LAN port of the motherboard. For the graphics driver, download it from HP website.

To set that printer up on other computers on you lan that might be wireless, just search for the computer its connected to through the network and connect to the printer. How to configure 4 Lan + 1 Printer +internet connections

Hello,

If all your connections are wired, you can use one of the three following solutions.

1. Purchase a router with more then 4 LAN ports on it.
2. If the printer or any of the computers have a wireless network card, then purchase a wireless router and simply connect 4 LAN cables and 1 WLAN.
3. Purchase a hub. Connect 3 computers to the first 3 LAN ports on the router; connect the hub to the fourth LAN port and then connect the last computer and the printer to the hub. In essence both your computer and the printer will share the same IP address (the IP given to the hub) and they should work.

In any of these situations, connect the internet connection to the WAN port of your router.

Thanks,

Pat

The wireless internet connection wont work. we previously had a wireless connection and now it wont register. we lost the connection completely and it doesnt show up on the list of internet connections....

Try turning off the router for 30 secs, then power it up again.
Then try connecting a LAN cable from the computer to the router and see if you can connect to the Internet.
If you can connect to the Internet then -
With the LAN cable open a browser and type in the configuration URL and check the Wireless settings, then check and/or the wireless card settings (it should have the router's SSID and encryption settings etc.)
Also install the latest wireless card driver.
Then test the wireless and Internet connection. If this doesn't work -
Next connect the computer with a LAN cable to the cable or DSL modem to see if you can connect to the Internet.
If you cannot get an Internet connection with the LAN cable, contact your ISP and get them to test the connection to your modem.
If the modem and Internet is OK and you still cannot get a wireless connection then the problem could be a faulty wireless router.

Connecting inteface with computer- lan port

The LAN (or Network port) is located on the back of the motherboard. When you connect the cable from the AR 161 to the motherboard, the lights will start to flash - Green = Stable and Orrange = data flashing.

Printer and Modem

are you using a USB cable to connect your modem ? Are you using a USB cable to connect your printer ? If you are using a USB cable to connect your modem, try using an ethernet cable and your LAN card instead. It will work better and you won't need modem drivers to make it work. You do however have to have a LAN card or built-in LAN adapter. As long as you have one of those 2, the best way to hook up your modem would be by using the ethernet jack on the modem straight into your LAN card/adapter. If you are not using USB to connect your modem then please send me your printer model and how it's hooked up and I will help you figure it out. Hope this helps.
