Wma10 door will not lock, door latch hits plastic slide. slide moves into position just as it should (now the problem) locking peg from switch does not move in to slot . if you move little toggle on switch by hand it is fine It seems as if switch not being energised. not a new m/c but has worked well, problem has arisen after two nights hard frosts may be a coincdence.any help would be well recived chris.
I think what you need is possibly a new door handle latch or spring, sometimes the spring breaks or becomes weak, it is unlikely to be a fault with the door lock, as they rarely fail.
To replace , undo all screws holding inner and outer door panels together, and prise the 2 panels apart, be careful the door glass does not fall and break
Take note of the position of spring and latch

Thankyou.
The door lock gets its supply from the main pcb at the top of washer.
If there is no supply to lock, then it is likely to be a faulty pcb..There is no wiring diagram to be had for these washers, only Hotpoint engineers have them, and they are not availble to the public .If the pcb has failed, then there is a a strong possibility that some thing else has caused it to fail.
Hope this helps.
cheers.

Thanks for reply.Mechcanical parts work as they should striking and moving plastic slide into correct position for peg on electric switch to engage. But there is no currant at switch to energize it Seems like an electrical problem I think a wiring diagram is needed to show where switch should draw its power from Any help would be well received,Chris
