Bissell ProHeat Pet Makes a popping sound and stops sucking up water

I can cut it on and it will throw out and water and the solution just fine and it also picks up the water just fine. But after a few mins it will make a popping noise and then just stops sucking up water. Its almost like something got caught in the air way but we have checked it and can't find anything wrong.

SOURCE: Bissell 1699 ProHeat Clearview Steam Cleaner won't pick up

Usually if the water isn't being sucked up is either the filter in the lid of the tank is clogged, or the gasket that sits on top of the clear window nozzle and the tank is missing.

Does water squirt out of the hose nozzle, if it does, then check the heater inside the handle asm. Make sure that where the tubes hook up to it are not clogged. If water doesn't squirt, check for the seal at the bottom of the tank, it needs to be on the tank, not in the hole. The flow indictor cap is leaking air or maybe is too tight. If you had the top cover off, make sure that the tubes are routed right so as not to get pinched when the cover is put back on, the smart mix knob should be in the water setting and that the piston is on the bottom of the smart mix know. Pump is bad.

SOURCE: water suction

Here's what I did. On the top of the water bucket there is a red oval screen, remove and clean the screen and replace. Also, next to the screen is an oval opening which meets up with a black oval gasket on main unit. Inspect the gasket and replace if dry or cracking. Otherwise, if it looks good, reseat the gasket (it fits into some grooves). When you fill the bucket and put the the top on, put it in the machine and make sure it is making good contact against the gasket. This worked for me. I also found a repair manual for these units that could be helpful located at: http://www.bissell.com.au/images/IncludeContent/Service_Center_Help/Upright_Deep_Cleaner_Repair_Guide.pdf

Be sure when you put the dirtant dust container in place that it is in properly. I have had this and believe it or not this container has enough room to fit without it seating properly. Take the dust container out and reseat it making sure the bottom is secure and then turn the lock lever in place. Try it again. What happens is you get an air gap which allows some air to flow but the vacum does not function properly.

I have a Bissell ProHeat 2x advance carpet cleaner . It stop sucking up water. How can I fix it?

First check your filters. The Customer User Guide says to clean them after each use. There's two: The Water Tank Cap filter (looks like a screen) remove it, clean and reinstall, and the Flow Indicator: Turn the Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise and remove. Remove the rotor and under it is the filter. Remove, clean and reinstall in reverse order. If that didn't do it call Bissell Consumer Care at -1-800-237-7691 Hope that helps.
