Garmin's use Lithium Ion battery technology which can explode and catch fire. Garmin issued an older series of devices a Battery Recall because of some reported instances call their support number and they can tell you if your Garmin serial number has been recalled. Understand though that it is a battery issue and many companies have dealt with exploding batteries. Try reading this for more info.

The plastic studs on the engine cover are missing is it safe to use the car without the cover being in place. If not how can I fix this problem

Just installed the amp and 12" subs yesterday....after playing them for about 45 min...they amp got hot and quit. What caused this?

If your speakers are pulling more power than what your amp is putting out it will turn the amp off after a while to keep it from catching fire. I would try putting a power cell on it next time.

Cant seem to find fuses that wont blow for my 10' re series speakers

if a fuse does not blow when a short is present then the wire or unit will catch fire. You have a dead short most likley in the subwoofer. If you unplug the subwoofer and the fuse does not blow then your unit failed.

In need specs to build a box

Hello fmaisonet77,

Here's a link to Clif Designs website the specs on your sub.

They recommned a 1.75 CuFt sealed, or a 2.75 CuFt ported enclosure.

Hope this helps.

Burning smell

The amps do have issues that is for sure - That is where I step in - I can repair your amp and make it so it won't burn up (catch on fire) again. When the amp goes it burns a hole in the board - but it can be repaired. I have done several hundred and all customers are happy :) ... Look for my add here and also on ebay

Subwoofer cone catching

From past experience this is usually due to the voice coil overheating and then hitting the magnet structure and producing a clicking sound when being played. Basically your speaker is blown.

Some brands of speakers have spare parts such as coils/cones for them to be repaired but probably not many now days.

Jbl PB12 powered sub woofer problem

These subs have had many problems, all associated with the amplifier section. PB 12's with an "M" as part of the ser. no. were assembled in Mexico and these are the ones with the amp problems. JBL fixed mine and sent it back no charge, BUT it cost me nearly $100 to send it to them in the first place. I have another one that has had no problems at all. Try sending it back for repair. At best you'll get a rebuilt unit back, at worst a substantial discount from the company for a new sub.

I had the same problem...replaced the C42 capacitor with one that I got from RS...fixed everything and all is well again. I only have moderate soldering skills, too, so if I can do it, so can you
