Haier tv keeps resetting vga settings to default

I'm using my Haier LED tv as a computer monitor. The default settings put an ugly pink line down the left hand side and the computer screen is too far to the right and down. I can correct these stupid defaults in the VGA settings, but every time the computer goes to sleep or I turn the tv off, it resets right back to the default. What a pain.

Most new can now a days. In any case, took a quick look at your specs and simply connect to PC. Then choose input from TV. Like VGA, HDMI, depending on cable paring you choose for your PC video card. VGA is usually the easiest.

Can i turn my vizio m190va tv into a computer monitor?

Unfortunately. the HDMI port on the M190VA does not interpret the signal from a computer. The HDMI signal from a set-top box is different than that of a computer. You need to use the VGA port and the PC audio in on the TV; if your computer doesn't have a VGA port, use a DVI to VGA adapter or other appropriate adapter. You will need a 3.5 mm audio patch cable to use the TV's speakers. See page 25 of the M190VA manual here: http://store.vizio.com/documents/downloads/hdtv/M190VA/364User%20Manual.pdf .

I wish that I had better news for you.

My Windows XP is connected to my Epson Powerlite S3, but the screen is blue with the words Source: Computer (Auto) No Signal on it. When I click "Help" on the projector, it takes me to a screen...

'No signal' and 'unsupported signal' messages mean 1 of 2 things, either the VGA output is off(laptop) or the display resolution is set too high(laptop and desktop). Assuming the VGA cable you are using is good, try this:

Desktop: hook the computer back up too your computer monitor & set the computer to the basic VGA resolution. For windows XP, right click a blank area on the desktop, click 'properties' on the dropdown menu, click settings. Write down the numbers in the 'screen resolution' and 'color quality' boxes!

Drag the 'screen resolution' all the way down to then 'less' side. Then change the 'color quality' to the lowest setting. Click apply, then answer yes (the display will look UGLY - don't worry!!) Now connect your computer back to your projector. If it works, then the resolution you use on your desktop monitor is not supported on your projector. Experiment with different resolutions to see which one looks best on your projector. You will need to change the settings each time you switch monitor to projector.

Laptop: by default the VGA connector on your laptop is off. To turn it on, look for a blue symbol on one of your function (F1, F2, F3...) keys. It looks like an old TV with a line on both sides 'O' (F4 on HP) Press & hold the blue button (on the lower left of the keyboard, usually to the left of control ) and tap the bleu button you just found. Let go & give you're a computer a few seconds to change over. If the laptop screen goes blank, you found the correct button! The display image should now be visible. Repeat this 1 to 2 times to change it back to laptop display.

If you did not see the display on the projector, 2 other issues are possible. First, verify that the VGA output on the laptop is working - connect the laptop to a regular computer monitor & change the display resolution to the lowest settings (see desktop above), then try it again on the projector. If you cannot get an image on a computer monitor, your laptop settings may need to be adjusted in the same dialogue box as the settings. Monitor #1 is the laptop display, Monitor #2 is the external output.
Happy viewing :)

I have a 42 in lcd i hooked my computer up to it the computer sound isnt comeing out of the tv how do i get it to come out my suround sound there is a jack like a head phone plug where i hooked the...

Now i assume you have connected the Computer using a VGA cable ( 15 D pin connector )bobhifi_41.jpgbecause if you had used an HDMI cable the sound would have come by default. The VGA cable only carries analogue Video signals. So you will have to get 3.5 mm phono to 2 RCA cable to connect the sound out of the PC to the TV's audio in socket ( next to the VGA socket labeled audio IN )

I have a dataprojector, no signal

Then 'No signal' or 'unsupported signal' messages are usually because your display is set too high. Dod you use HOTKEYS on the laptop to tell it to send the signal the VGA outlet of the laptop? The hotkeys function can be set to turn off the laptop screen and only have external monitor to be the only display or it can be set to have both of them on.

HP monitor goes black and asking for frequency settings

If you see the initial boot screen until windows boots then you may have a setting for the refresh tate too high in Windows. Try starting in VGA safe Mode by hitting F8 during boot. Once there you go to control panel, Display, settings tab,Advanced and choose monitor. you'll see a refresh rate, try setting it to 60 or 70 and see if it works on reboot.

Be sure to use the VGA option...its ugly during the session but will let you reset the rate.
Good Luck!
