Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook

1 Answer

Anyone available for a quick question?I am probably the MOST computer illiterate on line today-so please no laughing.I just bought the cheap Acer Aspire One, and want to add a larger memory card. Are memory cards specific to the unit (i..e. Acer needs acer compatible, or can any memory card fit) and does the Acer Aspire accomodate only a certain number of GB, i.e can I add a 2G, 4G or up to 8G? All of the sites I find are way over my head to answer simple issues like this.I als read that Acer needs 2 of the exact same cards-not different nrands-at the same time to run, but does this refer to the RAM battery and not the memory card? PLEASE, simple language for this very confused mom of a disabled child I'm trying to help. Thank you.

I have a newly bought Acer Aspire 3810T. When I opened it last night I saw a green vertical line, and until now this green line still appears. Can you please help me?

"....a newly bought Acer Aspire 3810T...." It's NEW.. why mess around with it.
Read the manual that came with it. If the green line means somthing, it will be in the manual or Quick Sart guide. If not, it's defective and should be returned for exchange or repair.. under warranty.

Am running an acer laptop (3 years old) Suddenly fan has got very very quick (really quick!) and hence very noisy - sounds like an food mixer on high speed. Is on constantly.Laptop doesnt feel over warm...

I think a resistor went out in *********** board. Do not jam it or you will get some good damage to it. Hmmm Acer is top of the line computers and this shouldn't have happen. Did you get moisture in it? Laptops as cheap as they are today are better off being replaced if indeed the mother board is out. Usually repair shop will not charge to tell you what is wrong. What I did was get a hard drive adapter for my old computer and thereby using it for an external memory.

The three different manuals available for this computer can be found here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Dell-3700-Laptops-manual/id/679ci670/t/2/

The quick-start guide is the one that probably has everything you need.

A vertical white line appears on my LG L1520B 15 monitor

This is a horizontal sync circuit gone.
In English, probably cheaper to replace than repair.
Wouldn't hurt to get a quote if it is free.

Installing cd/dvd games on acer aspire one a110

Get an external CD/DVD drive (USB) and run the game from that. (It's probable that you are hitting a copyright lock that needs the original disc.)

Cindy Wells
(if you want a DVD burner, you'll pay extra. Generally, the CD-RW/DVD-ROM drives are fairly cheap now <$50.)

Flat screen monitor

First, make sure that you have all the necessary cables connected, then make sure that they are all connected properly and tightly. Also, make sure that your computer is set to output to the correct output. If that doesn't work, then the speakers are probably broken. That's the exact reason why you don't buy stuff from pawn shops. Cheap, but crappy.

Probably a voltage regulator, they are usually available on ebay, but I suggest having it done at a repair centre.

No Signal

Probably the settings on the computer graphics card output.
You need to selct the external screen.

Just to be sure it's not a screen fault, are you able to test it on another PC (desktop, not laptop)?
