Question about Panasonic TCL42U22 42 in. TV

Open Question

My panasonic tcl42u22 keeps shutting off.

There is no picture, and I cannot see the menu select other inputs. Meanwhile it shuts off after about maybe 30 seconds or so.

There is no blinking. It just turns off. It does have an automatic shut-off feature, when there's no input, but that is easily dealt with. This doesn't look like that.

I HAVE A PANASONIC PLASMA TV,SERIAL NO IS TH-37PG9U,THAT STUCK ON HOTEL MODE,IT HAVE PC,DVD,AND NORMAL CABLE INPUTS,BUT NOTHING WORKS,HOW CAN I RESET IT TO WORK,THANKS IN ADVANCE

Be careful with this !
One wrong mis-setting and you could cause problems with your set.

On the TV itself, find the manual buttons down the side and select

-/V button press down and keep it pressed down meanwhile, on your remote...

Press the AV or TV/AV button three times in quick succession.
(depends which remote you have).

First press -/V then while still pressed down, press remote AV button 3 times
The menu will appear and you can change the settings.....just don't play around with it, it will go wrong very quick. Just stick to the objective and you'll be fine.

WHY DOES IT KEEP TURNING OFF

Yes. Rear-proj.with 3 picture tubes. These, like most newer tvs have self-checks that shut the tv off if the fault could worsen problems for the TV (such as damage picture tubes.) or it's not able to put a picture up.
After it shuts off, you can press menu and input/device together for 5 secs, and it will flash a 2-digit code (such as "23" or "24", etc.)(vertical or horizontal error.) Though you will need to call a repair shop for repair. It's usually better if they are Mits. factory authorized, as they'll likely have more exper. on Mits.

Vertical lines

There are mainly two reasons for this fault. Circuit board, and panel. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" or "Flipcard" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 1300 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there.
