Won't boot OS in vista

Hi, 1 - Hp dv6000 Laptop start off and on by itself. 2 - Having Black Window with nothing on it (No Cursor), I can hear the fan is working and 2 or 3 quiet beep and 2 sounds clicking like cd player. 3 - Can takes me hours or days to get through safe mode by using shift+F8 / F8 and then It would takes me to window with safe Mode on the corner) 4 - Can't get to Microsoft Security Essential System by Shift+F10 anymore. 5 - Tried F11 or F12 at earlier time . 6- There is no update in my computer as it says and haven't firwall (Stop working). 7 - Once during repair by myself, Something came up with real time or so. 8 - I have no Recovery disk, No restore point. 9 - I have a file stored in my desktop screen (I THINK it is a back up file) that created by following procedure from 1-2 person from microsoft because I was asking of some failure in updates, and after update my laptop got to this situation and unfortunately MS persons didn't send me as he/she said through the E-Mail and didn't answer my E-Mail anymore. 10- Many other things that I don't remember now and as it is obvious I am computer illiterate . All answer and help appreciated in advance. By the way I went through run>msconfig>System configuration utility > turn the safe boot in off (No safe boot or minimal is selected now). It got worse, Isn't?

FIRST, TRY TO CLEAN THE COMPUTER OF MALWARE, VIRUS..etc. Unplug, remove battery, plug in, Push on/off button with one hand, with the other repeated tap F-8 ,Just F-8, Boot to safe mode with networking, Open Control Panel, Power, Change to High Perrformance, in Advanced Power settings, Change Sleep tand Hibernate to NEVER. Download MALWAREBYTES freeware at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ . In the install, UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL SCAN, DELETE ALL RESULTS, REBOOT. IN safe mode with networking, Run a FULL SCAN with YOUR UP-TO-DATE ANTI VIRUS Software, Reboot. If that does not help, post results. OR, You should reinstall Windows, a fresh reinstall. With that many issues, and your skill level, take it to a QUALIFIED Computer Tech. You may have multiple issues, most likely, and all we can do is address one issue at a time. We are at a disadvantage, It's like, "Trying to do surgery, by instructing someone by sending them letters". Any number of Experts on this site could fix the problems quickly, if they had the laptop in their possession.

  • nou tali Jan 21, 2013

I was chalenging with the problem in these days. I followed what you said about power option. There is some other problem accured during test. Such az : 1- Laptop keepturning on & off 2- I can't hear beep sounds any more when i turn it on 3- There is no update installed 4- Turn window feature on or off has empty window (after waiting more than enough) 5- Running system file checker tools gave me the answer that win. resource protection could not start the repair SRVC. 6- Don't have recovery CD 7- Can't have access to the internet on Safe Mode 8- Try tot download anti Virus and run it in broken laptop and it didn't go through. 9- No restore point stored that would be usefull 10- Try to Scan with Micro Essen. win. & Malwarebytes and there is no problem on the result. I don't know what else I could do. I am stuck on turn my computer on. I don't have any file on it. But I don't want to leave it with some professional that could go through my hard. If it is possible, I want it to be format as the first day I purchased it.

Select Safe Mode with Networking to access the internet. Be very, very Cautious if you are considering a BIOS update, if you don't need it it's best to leave it alone, one wrong step, and you have a new "paperweight" , that was a laptop. Have you cleaned the fan, heatsink, and vents? Overheating will cause the machine to shut down.

SOURCE: New HDD inserted into Pavilion ZD7000 - will not boot from XP CD

Try your old HDD in it and see if that works. If it does work then nothing is damaged except your DVD drive/Controller. Try putting the new HDD in another computer, installing windows then putting it back in the HP. If all else fails then flash the bios with an updated image and see if that rectifies the problem.

Hp dv6000 will not oot all the way

You've got either a corrupt or missing boot files or system files. You will need a repair disc or a system disc to fix this problem. If you have such a disc put it in the cd drive and boot from it. You want to get to the recovery console so that you can type the following dos command in the black window that appears with white text. The command is: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour so be patient. You will also see the percentage of completion going from high to low but that is normal. Just let it run to completion then reboot your machine. Check disk will repair or install corrupt and missing boot and system files. If it does not boot then you will need to reinstall your operating system. Try to a repair install to an existing operating system instead of a new install. The repair install will preserve your data, docs, music, pics and videos. The new install will wipe them out.

Hp laptop dv6000 won't start how to solve

Hi,

I think you can try this step and see if it makes your laptop work.

1. Unplug the AC adapter and Remove the Battery
2. Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 secs. without the battery and ac adapter
3. Put it all back in and see if the machine will work.

If happened it doesn't work. Try this.

1. Turn off laptop, unplug laptop, and remove the battery.
2. Unscrew all panels on the back of the laptop.
3. Reseat RAM and Hard Drive.
4. Check if the power port is loosed.

If happens those steps don't work it could be with the Motherboard, CPU, Video Graphics or LCD itself that's having a problem.

Hope it helps somehow.

Booting problems with acer laptop - no operating system found??

Hi,

PXE (pronounce Pixie) is an agent used to boot on to the network.

It's using the DHCP protocol to localise a server where the image of the OS is located

If, for any reason, the hard drive is not seen the computer will attempt to boot on the network controller.
This can be caused if the hard drive is missing, unplugged or corrupt, or simply by not having the boot order configured correctly.

When you start your laptops, press F2 repeatedly until you enter the bios set up, navigate to the boot order and make sure that the hard drive (sometimes listed as HDD....) at the top of the list.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need anymore help.

Problems with my laptop

I think it has to do with your video cardsettings.I suggest u should get knoppix live cd which is downloadable free from the net.You then try to boot your computer using knoppix cd by changing your boot options to booting from cd.You enter the boot options by pressing down one of the function keys depending on your computer make.If u are able to boot in to knoppix you can access your video card and then resety it.
