This is normal I'm afraid. "InFocus" is a brand name indicating that these are fixed focus. The name implies that they are magically always in focus, but actually means that they CAN'T be focussed. They have a fixed compromise focus setting that is OK but maybe not brilliant from far distance to fairly close, but actually only completely right at some point in between. If you want binoculars to use for much closer viewing than the compromise distance, you need to buy some with a focussing knob.
